• Re: Capacitor Value Matching

You can also put a large Sonicap Gen I cap in parallel with a small Gen II. Sonicraft recommends this to open up the midrange as the Gen I is good for the top and bottom and the Gen II is good for the middle. An example would be a 1.8 uF Gen I and a .22 uF Gen II which would total 2.02 uF.

  • Re: CDs, when will they be obsolete?
I think once wireless internet becomes more readily available, that we'll eventually start seeing streaming media that is available pretty much anywhere you want to go. It'll probably start happening once cell phones are able to stream cd quality music. At that time, the CD will probably be completely replaced...

  • Re: Sale on Emotiva gear

Yeah, I looked at that pointer a couple of times. Then a couple more... I guess I'm glad the XMC won't be out until June. I'd like to say I wouldn't broach the topic of it now with my wife were the product ready, but I'm an idiot and I probably would if it was on sale =D

  • Re: Juicy Music Blueberry Extreme on Audiogon
you're making a wise decision aobut the VRD's Tom, I just got mine a few weeks ago and i love them more every day...
I've had my VRDs for 2 years now, and they are more and more appreciated with time. Usually one gets a new audio toy and loves it for a short time, and if it's just so-so the...

  • Re: CDs, when will they be obsolete?

I would like to hear something better than CD quality sound available for downloading, not to say there is not already and i just dont know about it. Is it me or does anybody else prefer the sound of clean vinyl over CD's, maybe just my Sony ES just getting worn out. Music with good sound seems harder and harder to find like they forgot or just...

  • Port size of KSF8.5

I recently got a pair of KSF8.5 one had port ring and the other one had an open port where the port belongs. I am guessing that this effects the accuracy and detail of the bass frequencies coming from these speakers. Does anyone know the diameter, and length of the tubes, so I may be able to fabricate something?

  • Juicy Music Blueberry Preamp Impression

As many of you might have guess from the picture of my home theatre, there is something that resemble the Juicy Music Blueberry Preamp on the right rack. It is in fact the Blueberry itself. It took me a long time (due to the nature of my job being away from home for the most part) to finally have a chance to rebuild my home theatre and 2-channel systems...

  • Re: CDs, when will they be obsolete?

In reality of course CD's are already obsolete but, as was the case with vinyl, they will never truely disappear altogether. The sad thing is that the replacement will not be as good a quality - even though that is quite possible because the majority of the music buying public simply do not care. MP3 and its multiplicity of variants, loseless or...

  • Re: What are you driving right now

2006 Silverado LT. Bought it 3 years ago today. 9,557 miles. Third GM truck since 1983. No issues with any of them. The wife's 10 year old sedan has 29,500 miles. Still drives like new (the wife). Tried to buy her a 09 Corvette convertible for our 36th anniversary a couple of months ago. She balked, I'm still thinking about it anyway. Most women...

  • Best v. cheap option to power Klipsch KG 2.5's

Hello all, I just ordered a pair of Klipsch KG 2.5's. I have about $200 left to power them with something. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or what I should look for in terms of watts or spec. I'm not really an audio expert, just want to buy something to listen to. I know my budget is low. Should I just goto Best Buy and get a receiver...
