• Re: Chorus for HT

Are you recommending a series config for the centers as well as the fronts? I thought it was a no-no to run speakers in series, since the variable load of one speaker would cause problems for the other. Is there any danger of damaging the speakers or avr in this config? Assuming I address the underpowered avr in the future, would the parallel config...

OK, nice news Steve and Dennie, sorry to see the Vulcan go... What is in its place ? Friend of mine just bought a brand new Raider (big motor!) Well, you both slid off topic into my OTHER favorite hobbie. So, I present a photo of the newest toy (and a fair shot of me with it for the curious ) Steve, I just rode with a couple of friends, one new fellow...

  • Re: Matching F-3s with Quintet III for surround

The F-3s are just a great speakers for the money. I end up getting the C-2 with a pair of S-2s. They sound great! I also got a pair of Quintet IIIs just to compare and found that they didn't make much difference with most movies on blueray disc. However, like Klorslug said, I had to bring up the level to +3bB and crossover to 120kh on the Quintets...
Drivers don't drive automatics. The day I drive an automatic is the day I am physically unable to drive a standard, and then there might be a case for not driving at all.
I used to think that way (my first car was a stick-shift Corvette), but when I started driving ex-police cruisers, I found that it was...
Westie, I've never driven a car with a speed limiter but many with a rev limiter.
Years ago, when I was driving rental Luminas around Toronto for a while, bouncing them off the speed limiter in freeway traffic happened almost every day. However, traffic speeds in Ontario may be lower these days, since there's...

"Is it a myth or is it true that most mental health professionals like psychiatrists and psychologists have therapists of their own, just to help them keep on track after dealing with patients with mental issues all day, every day?" It used to be standard practice for a full fledged therapist to have a consultant. Many still do, but some do...

  • Re: Hooking up the KA-1000 to a Onkyo SC886

First of all I must say that the KW-120 with the KA-1000 is a killer combination. The whole surround soundpicture looks upgraded. Maybe it's in my mind but a really hear it that way. Even the news on tv is very nice to listen to . The Onkyo PR-SC886 is a THX Ultra2 Plus pre amp. At this moment I'm not running in THX mode but reading your answer...

  • Re: best of the worst

I guess my questions should have been 1- which has less distortion and 2- although the denon has more power than the hk by the #s does it "realy" have more. Also the hk in stereo jumps from 45-55 wpc.

  • Re: Klipsch CF 3 Report - Making Epic Series Speakers Sound Better

I had good luck with just about any pair of amps, as long as one amp has level controls. Run the bass amp "wide open" and simply reduce the level of the tweeter/midrange Horn amp. This is in a passive bi amp set up, for those wondering.
