What's New

  • Re: Updating Belle Klipsch Speakers

I scored a pair of Belles '75 vivntage from a fella's grandpa some time back. They are saawweeeeet and pristine too. All I did was upgrade the caps in the existing network complete. Moved a tap on the transformer with the help of good folks here and put the P trap on the horn. I then added dual acoustic suspension bi-amped subwoofers coming...

  • Re: Thorens TD 124
Oh, if you go with the Denon cartridge Mike suggested, you'll have to budget for a step-up transformer. And if you get a SME arm with it, make sure it's not a Series II Improved (doesn't mate well).
Excellent suggestions, Greg. Do a search on AA for Cinemag CMQEE-3440A SUT. I am using these with Denon...

  • Re: UPDATING CROSSOVER CAPACITORS {Need Advice}
Tiger, I was just about to suggest the same. Even the Clarity SA series is reasonably priced. haven't tried 'em yet, but have some new crossovers to build, so will give them a try.
I'll never use Solen's or Daytons again now that I know about these.
  • Re: Top 5 MID Drivers

Thanks Guys, I have built a tractrix horn for a 1" and a 2" driver and am looking at the 'used option' first but it may well be more appropriate to go new. I am using the 1" with my K55X'S (Khorn) at the minute and having superior results over the std K401. I am contemplating a bottom end build with either a 2 way or 3 way...

  • Re: More Deals. Super AH! Njoe Tjoeb 4000 CD Player

Colter, I think you are going to be a very happy camper...indeed. I own the same AH! Njoe Tjoeb 4000 CD player that you just purchased. This unit weighs so little that it will make you think that it can not live up to its hype. You are about to learn that the weight of a CD player is not the primary criteria that should be used to evaluate the quality...

  • Re: OT: Joke thread

A woman recently picked a new primary care doctor. After two visits and exhaustive lab tests, he said she was doing 'fairly well' for her age. A little concerned about that comment, She couldn't resist asking him, 'Do you think I'll live to be 80?' He asked, 'Do you smoke tobacco, or drink beer or wine?' 'Oh no,'...

  • Best way to mount my Heresy II to the wall

As the title states, I'm looking for the best way to mount my heresy's to the wall. I currently have them in a set of columns but I discovered with my new theater seats I sit lower than before which impeads the sound from them. So I was thinking about removing the columns. I just don't want these big square beautiful sounding boxes hanging...

  • Re: Home Theater/Pro Media Incorporation?

New or Used? Just 1K on speakers alone or does that need to include a reciever? I'll admit I use my Promedia Ultra 5.1's for HT duty....BUT...my room is very, very small(like 7'D X 9'W). I am 6' from the screen on the couch using a 27" HDTV, if I was sitting I would be able to tocuh the screen and my nose. I have a DD5.1 collecting...

  • Re: 1080P
My Sharp LC 32GP1U has a specification of 6,220,000 dots, (1920 x 1080 x 3dots). This is taken out of the manual page 55. Not sure what they mean by "dots". Probably something else to confuse the public.
Since no one responded, I figured I would clear up the confusion. Yes, it is meant to confusion,...

  • Re: FUG

Welcome to the group Dean. I am new to Frazier speakers also. I picked up a pair of Mark IV's a few months ago and have been very impressed with these little babies. I live up here in the Seattle area and Fraziers don't show up too often aroud here it seems. I know I have certainly been keeping my eyes peeled for them. Todd, I'm not touching...
