Voigt / Tractrix

Paul Voigt is credited as the first to use the tractrix equation for horn design.  This was in the late 20's, or possibly early 30's.  In a comment on my first blog, "Seti" mentioned that he was having a hard time finding anything on Voigt.  Here are a few things I found while rummaging thru the archive:  Careful:  it's 4.51 MB.

WOW!!

That is amazing. I have been looking for this type of documentation for a long time. The HC horn is really nice looking. I have only seen the examples in the Hope museum  which literally made my jaw drop when I saw them.

Thank you very much for sharing this information. He was truly one of the early pioneers of audio. I was reading an article about Voigt where PWK mentioned that he wished he could have met Voigt as they would have been friends.

Perhaps one day I'll find a Voigt horn in an antique store somwhere.

Serendipity!  I have been working on an article about the history and acoustic diffrences of diffraction, tractrix, exponential, and round horns.
