"It's a Funny, Squeaky Sound"

Daily Photo

Proof positive that nature does exist inside the I-465 loop, which can be seen through the tree...

The morning silence of the marketing department (yes, we do have silence occasionally, especially when George is gone) was shattered when Jill, who has an excellent window view, exclaimed, "There's a squirrel in my face!"  Definitely a statement which requires further investigation and camera in hand.  Sure enough, we find this little feller perched a mere few feet from the building...not exactly "in her face," but close.

It quickly brought to mind one of my all-time favorite scenes in one of my all-time favorite Christmas movies.

In England the grey squirrels have over run and almost eliminated the red squirrels. One restaurant in England is trying to get squirrel meals to catch on to help iradicate the grey squirrels. YUM

There's a haws nest in a large sycamore tree on my way to work.  I've been watching it all winter and today I saw one of the pair in the nest, presumably getting it ready for spring.  Just down the road a few hundred feet away I saw the other hawk.

I love seeing the hawks around here (and the falcons too).  We rarely saw them growing up, now I see lost of them, and I take it as a sign that the ecology/environment is doing better than 25 years ago.
