A New Home

Daily Photo

The only bright spot in the recent departure of George is the empty cubicle he left behind.  Since I now have seniority in this department, I took it upon myself to stake claim..I even eye-balled the space before George left.  Cold, maybe, but hey, he left us!  It only took 8 years with Klipsch (15 years, professionally), but at last, a coveted window "office!"

It's a small thing, I know, but I'll take what I can get.

So yes, it was only one cube over from my previous spot, but I'm enjoying being out of the center aisle of the marketing department frenzy immensely.  But if one more person walks through here and says to me, "Hey, you're not George," I may have to change my name just so I can give a more interesting response besides that of "no-DUH."

I've had a window seat once in 20 + years ... 13th floor looking north towards Plano in north Dallas - kind of back in a corner by myself....

those were the days

Before and since the best I can do is a part of a window behind the desk opposite mine in a 4 person pen (cube that holds 4)

A little natural light is better than none

have never moved up to an office out of a cube ... maybe someday

Congrats Amy!

Life is good with a window!

I'm back to my old office 14x14 with solid 3/4" mahogany paneling, walnut desk and credenza, two windows, PC and Mac, HK730, forte II's, 1000 CD's and a kitchen 10 steps away.

And two gold records on the wall (brings back a certain Joe Walsh song, don't it?)

Way to rough it, eh? ahhhhh.

"And two gold records on the wall..."

Then it's more than a rumor, Michael is a rock star?

Nice office Michael.  Much better than any office I've ever had.

Light?  What is that said the professor growing mushrooms in the R&D Cave.

# blsamuel said on 10 July, 2008 03:38 PM

I'm sorry to hear that Professor Thump - I lived down the road from some mushroom barns when I lived in the Detroit area ... wasn't too bad most of the time but on those hot muggy days ...

I hope that you occaisionally get out to the test shed.  Everyone needs some natural light.

This interesting piece of cubicle art has been magnetically dangling from the far side of my cubicle

Enquiring minds want to know just what is dangling from the "interesting piece of cubicle art.. magnetically dangling from the far side"?
