The Yellow Kid

Yes, Crocs are all the rage, and yes, I try to avoid being a conformist...especially when the current "rage" is this weird looking.  But Steven has longed for these shoes since the beginning of the summer, and he finally wore me down yesterday.  I had to resist the urge to try some on myself because I was afraid I'd fall in love with them.

If you'll remember, I talked about these extremely large, beautiful yellow R909 speakers from Jamo a while back, and mentioned Steven's affinity for yellow.  I've never seen anything like it.  He'd rather play with a piece of yellow paper than the coolest some-other-color toy in the world.  I began wonder what this might have to do with Steven's personality, and after a brief history in strange comic strip characters, I stumbled upon this site, whose analysis is surprisingly accurate.

What does your favorite color say about you?

My wife and daughter's love their Crocs.

I almost even got some at a Crocs outlet a couple of weeks ago but only had odd colors like hot pink and turquoise that would fit my fat size 13 feet but they did seem comfortable.

Had some bigger sizes in acceptable colors but all were too small or too big in acceptable colors.  I sure wasn't going to get hot pink... not sure if they had yellow in my size but I don't think so.

"Blue: Soft, soothing, compassionate and caring, Blue is the color of deliberation and introspection, conservatism and duty. Patient, persevering, conscientious, sensitive and self-controlled, Blues like to be admired for their steady character and wisdom. They are faithful, but are often worriers with somewhat inflexible beliefs and can be too cautious, and suspicious of flamboyant behavior."

Hmm... I'm usually skeptical about this sort of analysis, but that's me to a "T".

Amy,

Thank you for getting Steven some crocs to wear! He is obviously pleased in his matching yellow outfit.

Yeh. Yellow. "bright, hopeful, and even laid back, as in mellow yellow."

Don't know if I'd mention that yellow is better than blue, because blue attracts bosquitoes.

Dee--  Heavens no!  We have a fairly strict dress code.  Crocs would not do at all, but I'm sure many would love to wear them!

Oh my sweet tea!  I'm so excited that I found your blog!!!~through Facebook - was going to comment on YOUR hilarious comment - you and I have the same tendancy to quote wicked awesome movies- ;-)

Steven is getting so big!  He just had a birthday too, didn't he?  I babysat for a little boy the other day that reminded me of him at a year.  So sweet and good.  Aw, I miss him!!!

I've been able to wear my plain black Crocs at Work Crocs in the office on days I wear my Sorel snow boots.

Now back in the strict 5 4 19 days when we had to wear long sleeve dress shirts, ties, and suits?  I'd have been sent home.  Had a very nice light blue shirt with colorful pin and maybe larger strips with very conservative tie with a bunch of little tadpole shapes all over it that was deemed too radical.  But an UGLY white dress shirt with bigger stripes was ok.  Go figure.

So does Steven have some S4i Rugged yet in yellow?  Or has he moved onto his orange phase?
