A Parting Gift

This interesting piece of cubicle art has been magnetically dangling from the far side of my cubicle overhang since before I moved into this cube, and who knows for how long before then.  Poor woofer looks like someone didn't care much for the music it was playing.

Since the IT department will be moving into our space within the next few weeks (marketing will be joining the engineers downstairs....yes, marketing is merging with engineers...which could completely disrupt the organization of the universe) I think I will leave it for them as a cubicle warming present.

I'm excited for the move - more on that later - but I am going to miss my lovely window view.  (You can see the dangling woofer in the link at the far end of my cube.  Just hanging out. Oblivious.)

(Edit 3/5/09 - I found out the other day that I am possibly the source of a bad rumor, and IT will NOT be moving into our space.  But we are still moving downstairs to engineering in a couple weeks, which should give me some great blogging material.)

I like it.  Doubles as a note holder, a very large note holder, and a place to hang things on like in your lovely window view pic.

Moving marketing in with engineering?

That's a potentially scary thought.

But we know the Klipsch marketing people aren't the clueless dolts in the Dlibert cartoons.

It sounds like a good idea to me.  I mean, the better the marketing people understand and know the products, I'd think the better they'd be able to market them?  But what do I know?  I'm in IT, and a Mainframasurous Rexx at that.

Maybe in preparation for new Klipsch marketing campaign.  Our engineers our serious about the sound ... Klipsch products are based on good engineering not marketing smoke and mirrors (or BS) ... listen to Klipsch before spending your hard earned cash on something else.

Maybe Klipsch should educate the sheep like public as to why Klipsch sounds better.

Audio 101.  Good engineering makes better sounding speakers than good marketing.

And this move begs the question... what'd marketing do to get banished to the engineering dungeon?

Personally, with the lab and test equipment, and listening rooms, I'd think engineering would be the coolest place to be but my family thinks I'm something of an audio geek but what do I know.

thats a woofer I cut up for a demo for Matt S a long time ago. It still moves / plays. It was used to show how a woofer looks on the inside as it moves.

The basement- ugh. Jill will not like that a bit. She's had that beautiful corner view where she can see the checkered roof of her car. But the engineering guys aren't bad and you get to hand with the Melissas!

Does IT need that much space?
