My New Space, and the Luck of the Draw

Since marketing moved in with the engineers, we have wasted no time making the space our own.  It already has that "lived in" look, as you can see in this view of my cube.

What usually isn't sitting there is the giant bright blue box, which houses the tiny, but surprisingly loud Jamo A 102 HCS 5 surround sound system.  When we celebrate something here at Klipsch, it typically involves some kind of product giveaway to a lucky winner...and yes, yours truly was the recipient from last Thursday's festivities

It sure helped that marketing hosted the drawing, and the only name in the bucket was mine.

(not really)

Congratulations!

Jamo has been a long respected and highly regarded brand of speakers.  Often very stylish as well.  I'm sure you'll put them to good use.

Luck of the Draw is also a very good Bonnie Raitt album IMHO though I'm not sure I've heard a Bonnie Raitt album I didn't like.

So are they going in Steven's room or the kitchen?

There's too many swoopy lines to call that a 'cube'. Congrats on the winning entry. If you play some Bonny Raitt on that system you will have the admiration of one Roy Delgado.

I've got to agree with CP1... your office space isn't really cubicle..... mine, when I'm in the office, is a 4 person cube I lovingly refer to as a pen, currently shared with only 1 other.

I had a sort of round "cube" in the middle of the floor for a while when I worked in downtown Chicago.  Very 70's or maybe late 60's.  Wish I'd taken a couple of pictures.

Each floor had a different color of (pretty much worn out) carpeting and movable free standing color coordinated curved partitions to create office spaces.  Maybe some straight.

Filled with the 70's or maybe 60's extra heavyweight Steelcase office furniture.

I had a desk, credenza, bookcase, table, even an extra chair though it came packed with all the crap the previous occupant left behind when she moved to a different department.  Including at least 2 or 3 pairs of shoes.  We were the orange floor.  Probably pretty groovy when it was new.

I didn't have a window though.  I could've moved to where I had a window but it would've been facing Cabrini Green (sp?) one of Chicago's famous housing projects....  The other side faced the Stiffel Lamp Company.  Was kind of cool to look at that side as you could occasionally see what looked to be brazing torches and maybe even a small furnace..  A quick Google search reveals that the Stiffel brand is now owned by Salton.  Thought it'd be cool to visit if they gave tours but naturally never checked into it.

oh yeah, we're expecting pictures of the Jamos once you've set them up.
