This is pretty much what they look like after a day of project meetings.

If you've been keeping track, you'll know that I missed posting last quarter's recipient...only because I was out that week and didn't get to take the picture. Now I can't even remember the winner -- you see? If I'm not here, the world is supposed to stop. Get it straight, people.

Of course I'm kidding, and apologies to whoever it was...and a very belated congrats! (And I'm sure I'll be inundated with reminders as soon as I post this, so thank you in advance.)

This quarter the deserving recipient is Matt, electronics engineer. His cube is not too far from mine, so I have the distinct pleasure of hearing all his testing...lately low frequency testing ...   I gotta tell ya again, I can't recommend our headphones enough.

Nice job, Matt!!

I'm not much of a drinker anymore. Except water. And an occasional Fresca. But if I was, I most definitely would have partaken in these chilly looking products a couple weeks ago at our Energy Veritas party.

See, we have corks here and everything. Nuthin' but the best!

Congrats Cal Blacksmith, who got his entry in under the wire... and made me laugh the most with "But I don't even OWN a white van!"

Email me to claim your prize!

As for today's photo...  in light of my 40th trip around the sun, I thought today should simply be light-hearted all around. I take a lot of pictures of my kid (duh), and by looking at the ones I share you'd think I have him pretty well trained. Truth is, most of them look like this.

He keeps me young.

Ok, because I can't seem to focus today from the smell of the donuts still right behind me, I'll simply share the ones I've narrowed it down to so far. The contest is officially closed, and thanks all for the laughs!

Feel free to shout out a favorite:

  • Alcatraz: Complimentary t-shirt with each stay!
  • We told ya'll to turn it down!
  • When you said "Solitary" I thought you meant you were returning me to "mono" . . .

  • It's HERESY to put Paul Klipsch in jail!
  • "And I would have got away with it too...If it wasn't for those nosey kids and their *** SPL meter"

4 days before 40. Nope, not counting down.

This is the scene in the marketing department today. I can't believe I am refraining, but so far so good. It's my goal to look better in my 40s than I did in my 30s.

Winner of the caption contest to be announced later today. It's gonna be tough!!

So I finally got my hands on our much anticipated Image ONE on-ear headphones (we don't even have a webpage up for these yet to link to, that how in-the-loop I am. Ha.). First thing I noticed - these are super comfy and easy to wear. Those of you who know me know I can't stand headphones, hats, anything on my head really. I'm just weirdly claustrophobic like that. Also, my ear canals are ridiculously tiny and somewhat oddly shaped, so I've never had luck with in-ear headphones (until the super awesome Image X10 arrived, that is)....

Anyway, back to super comfy. These being on my head do not bother me at all. The ear cushions are nice and soft, and the headpiece doesn't wiggle around or fall off or anything annoying like that.

I don't have an iPhone, so I can't test the controls, but they have a nice, slick feel. I actually don't even notice they are there.

How do they sound? Well, c'mon, they're Klipsch! Nice and crisp, good bass, not overwhelming. I'm just using an iPod Touch, so the source quality isn't the greatest, but these are forgiving. My music sounds awesome.

The only downside vs the X10? They simply don't allow for big hair.

Available this fall (November-ish?) for $150

We're knocking off work a little early today for a celebratory to-do in honor of these glossy beauties. In addition to the 17 Reference and 8 Synergy models launching this month, we're also introducing a brand new 8-model line up of Energy Veritas.

It's complete anarchy around here, I'm tellin ya.

More information will be posted on the Energy website soon!

I woke Steven up for school in the usual way Tuesday (tapping him repeatedly and annoyingly on the back of the leg), and instead of the daily argument about how much more time he has to sleep (sooooo like his mother), he rolled over with a huge grin on his face asking, "Am I bigger today?"

Happy 6th, kid.

(You've already met Matt.)

Andre has been living overseas for the past few years, which you can sort of read about in his "on again/off again" blog. We've missed him around here, but he's doing a bang up job staying on top of things and making sure our products maintain Klipsch-par.

Truth is, I had to take this picture because together they reminded me of a fucshia plant. Which made me smile.
