Everything about New York was bigger than I imagined. Grand Central, Empire State, Statue of Liberty, Central Park, FAO Schwartz, and Macy's.... good lord, the size of Macy's!! If I ever go back, you won't catch me inside that store again. I need bread crumbs.
In fact, the only thing small, besides my hotel room, was the New Year's Eve ball. Look at that dinky little thing up there! You mean to tell me I've been staying up late once a year for the past 30+ years, wading through mediocre "live" performances and reports on the amount of people and confetti in Times Square just to watch this teeny tiny round light bulb decend a pole? How anti-climactic!
Yeah, I'm sure I'll do it again this year.
And I still haven't quite recovered.
