These rubber duckies have been wandering the country for almost 2 years now, and have seen some pretty amazing sites while in the care of our dedicated forum members. It gives us all a chance to get to know each other better, and learn about places found in each other's back yards.

Last week, the twosome were seen marveling at the Space Shuttle Atlantis as it was getting ready for launch at NASA's Vehicle Assembly Building, the largest one story building in the world. The kind of place where we can finally learn whether or not a duck's quack echos.

Here they are hiking the steep climb to Red Rocks Amphitheatre, not far from Denver, Colorado. Being a huge fan of Colorado and mountains in general, I can say that I am profoundly envious of my fine feathered-friends about now. I'd be willing to bet that is one fantastic venue for taking in a show.

Interesting side note: I received a couple additional humorous photos of the duo, one where they appeared to be giving a concert to an empty theatre, and another in the arms of an incredibly good sport, who happened to be Wyoming's Secretary of State. My decision is final: I will be posting a photo gallery of all the extra shots I have received after their tour is complete. Stay tuned!

Next Stop: California!

Dwight and Dilbert Pay Tribute to a Hero

Daily Photo:

The traveling ducks devoted some time to American History this past week, visiting the world's tallest statue of an American icon in Huntsville, Texas. The 30 tons of concrete and steel seen here stands at 67 feet tall (+ 10 ft base) and can be seen from almost 7 miles away.

I don't believe the little duckies at Big Sam's feet can be seen at that distance, however. In fact, I had to enlarge the shot a bit to verify they were indeed where they said they were. You know how sneaky those ducks can be.

Next stop: I'm sure it was fun, but I doubt their hearing is intact.

Since the CF-4s were a bit before my Klipsch-time (mid nineties), I don't believe I've ever seen one, aside from the photos on our site. Perhaps they are the inspiration for his next horn design? I have to assume the sad face is because the ducks had to bid him farewell en route to their next destination.

Roy is a 21 year member of the Klipsch family, and Principle Engineer for Commercial Design and Manufacturing. I think the longer you work here, the longer your title becomes. You can sometimes catch Roy lurking on the forum making off-hand remarks, and even though he likes to try to make it appear otherwise, he really knows his stuff. After all, his designs have been patented...

In addition to being a horn genius, if you get past the dry-wit, you'll find Roy to be a very thoughtful and caring person. A genuine apprentice to PWK, there's no BS about him.

Photo courtesy of DaddyDee. Dwight and Dilbert have been spotted in the 10 Year Treasury Note Option Pit at the Chicago Board of Trade trying to make a buck to get them to their next destination (East Chicago, IN). According to forum member flannj, even though the little yellow troublemakers don't have arms, it is believed they are responsible for a margin call.

What is interesting to me is no one around them seems to find it odd that there are two Rubber Duckies modeling for a photo shoot in the midst of such serious surroundings.
