  • Thanks for the Puppy Chow

Today Amy brought in some Puppy Chow for our department to snack on.  It was delicous.  I'm not sure how many cup-fulls I ended up eating, but it was somewhere in the count of too many.

If any of you have had Puppy Chow before, you know its made of delicous chocolate and peanut butter mixed up with various Chex cereal.  And, being the cereal fanatic that I am, you know I had to try a bowl of Puppy Chow and milk before the day was over.  I give it an A+.  I was going to take a picture of it for the blog, and to humor Amy...but I ate it already!

I highly recommend the Puppy Chow - especially Amy's batch.  I plan to make more over the Thanksgiving Holiday...to eat for breakfast.

    Thanks again Amy!

  • Honoring September 11th on the Bridge

Picture of the guys on the bridgeI live on the North-East side of Indianapolis where every morning on my way to work I cross the 96th Street bridge over I-69 which is arguably one of the most high-traffic and congested areas flowing into Indianapolis.  (Map)

And every year on September 11th, there is a small group of guys who stand on the I-69 overpass waving a bunch of American flags.  They smile and genuinely wave at each passing motorist.  Everyone is honking their horns and waving out the windows back at these guys in appreciation.

While it doesn’t seem like much and I’m sure someone else does this same thing in other places, something about it just gets me a little choked up.  Out of all the ceremonies and moments that people honor and remember the victims, the guys on the bridge are my favorite.

Every year since the first anniversary of 9/11, I always wonder if I’ll see those guys out there again.  Year after year they are there.  I will honk at them again next year and remember the victims of September 11th.

  • 1 Year Anniversary – Klipsch.com Redesign

I can’t believe it’s been one year since we redesigned the Klipsch.com site.

Last Friday, Nathan and I were just talking about other improvements and features we want to add to Klipsch.com in the near future.  Then we realized it had been exactly 1 year since we launched the new site.

If you have any suggestions on the Klipsch.com design, functionality, content, etc… send them my way.

Here is a screen shot of the old Klipsch site.

  • Kevin's Introduction

My name is Kevin Pletcher.  I started working in the marketing department at Klipsch in February of 2006 as the Online Marketing Manager.  I am responsible for the design of the latest version of Klipsch.com which launched in September of 2006.  So if you have comments, suggestions, or criticisms on the website you know who contact.

    Background
I am 31 years old, from Northern Indiana, and also a Purdue graduate.

I’ve always had an interest in music.  I like all kinds of music, but most of the time I’m listening to rock, alternative rock, and hard rock/metal.  I really enjoy live music, concerts, and I’ve been a concert photographer for over 5 years now.

Prior to Klipsch, I worked in the radio industry for 4 years.  Working at Klipsch has really been a fun way to stay within the music ‘industry’ in a way, but for me it is a whole new angle.

    My Blog
I’ll be blogging about what’s going on at Klipsch, projects I’m working on, as well as other randomness such as music, bands, concerts, sports, movies, TV, and other (funny) Internet media.  I’m also a bit of a geek, so I’ll probably point out other technologies, blog posts, and news stories.
