    Heresy components wanted

I bought a pair of empty Heresy cabinets.  Based on the serial numbers, they should be Heresy I's.  I am looking for all the components of the set.  That should be crossovers, tweeter horns, midrange horns, and the woofers, a pair of each.  I am hoping that maybe someone has a pair with trashed cabinets but good guts that they might want to sell.

If anyone knows about mixing and matching parts, I would be interested in knowing that as well.  Can one mix Heresy I and Heresy II component drivers?  I would assume that the crossovers would have to be for one or the other and not be a mixed pair.  However, for example, could one have Heresy I tweeters and Heresy II midranges and woofers?

I am in Kentucky (40504) for purposes of figuring shipping costs.

    Thanks,

    Bill Doyle

For the authentic Heresy sound you'd want to stay with the components for the original Heresy  Bill.

Remember that the II components mounted from the front of the motor board.

Bill, been busy, so did not see this thread. You could substitute K24's and K-53/701's (woofers and midranges) because in 1984 the remaining Heresy-I's had those instead of the K-22, K55/700 respectively. The tweeter, however, for all Heresy-I's was the K-77.

The K24's and K-53/701's (woofers and midranges) are available from Klipsch Parts. K-77's, however, are no longer available (not in that flavor anyways); you can always get a set of K-77 replacements from BEC (Bob Crites); his CT-125's are a drop in, direct replacement for the old K-77's and sound very good.

If you go that route, you will need to find a pair of E2 crossovers rather than E's. They are around. If all else fails, check with Bob Crites.

    Hope that helps.

I have a set of k77s I took out of my '86 LaScalas. $80 + shipping for the pair. They will fit in a pretty small box... maybe a USPS flat rate box (about $10)

Should SF somehow run out of K-55's... I have a pair as well.   In Philadelphia if local to someone and can save the shipping.

We always like to save on shipping.
