    Heritage Series La Scala

Anyone know of a good receiver that will run my Heritage Series La Scala in todays technology? These were used to thump the clubs back in the late 70's and early 80's with my dad DJ'n - crankin' out the tunes. He has sinced passed and these have now become mine. I always enjoyed the sound but as he's not around to ask and the knuckle heads at the electronic stores just want to sell you something and kick you out of the store - I thought I would turn to the fourm. I have read quite a few in here and there are some writers out there that know their stuff. So if you can ablige, I could use a good hand of advice. This info I found on the net in regards to these speakers. I have alot of my dads old gear and am looking to juice it up with a great amp/receiver. Thanks!

    Re: Heritage Series La Scala

A good suggestion would be a Harman Kardon HK3480 2 channel receiver, it is 120W per channel has provisions for a subwoofer which is highly recommended to fill in the lower octave missing out of the La Scala's frequency response.  It can be had very reasonably and has killer looks and performance using today's technology.

I purchased a B stock one directly from HK on eBay or AudioGon for like $180 or so shipped to me, it had a few cosmetic flaws but performance and operation are 100% and it sounds incredible.  The HK3480 was replaced with the HK3485 so the 3480's were offered at good prices.   I think the HK 3485 was selling in the $500 range.
