a Klipsch representative directed me to this forum, when I mentioned that we want to sell our Klipsch Forte speakers. We are the original owners and really would like to sell them locally (pick-up) vs. mailing them. The initial four digits of the serial numbers are 8820 and they were purchased as a brand-new pair. They work like a charm.

 Are your Fortes still available? They appear to be Forte IIs. Is this correct?

Thanks for your input and questions.  The speakers are still available. We figured, the odds may be against us finding a local buyer quickly, but we're not in a desperate rush or must sell them pronto.  Craigslist is free vs. eBay (insertion, sale and PP fees), which is why the speakers are priced more than fair, yet firm.

In case we end up listing them elsewhere and selling them to an out-of-state location, would any of you have recommendations as to the most economical and reliable way to ship them?  We don't have suitable packaging materials or crates for secure transit and would have to go to a UPS store or the likes; just dropping them off and have a carrier package and mail them must be insanely costly, just considering the weight of those babies.

I had a pair shipped to me from California for about $109 UPS. I live in TX. I've seen your listing they are nice looking. Did you also list them in OKC craigslist? 

Great advice to also push them over to OKC's craigslist if that's allowed, bigdaddy! It never dawned on me to do that and OKC's not even a 2-hour drive, one-way. Thanks.

Well, as luck would have it, and I usually don't have a lot of it, I found a pair of Cornwall Is for sale on Craigslist about two hours from me this morning. I ran to pick them up. While I've never had the opportunity to own a pair, I have seen/heard many over the years. WOW! These have to be the nicest pair I've run across in over ten years. They are as close to mint as one is likely to get, with the cane grills in perfect condition - not even discolored. AND, I paid a mere $600.00. The seller was under the gun from the IRS and given the low economy in his town, Yreka, CA, he couldn't find a buyer very well. He had been dropping the price for over six months. I felt really bad for him, as his eyes filled up after we carried the first speaker to my friend's truck. What a sad way to get the speakers of a lifetime.

 I'll try to post pics tomorrow. For now, however, I can do little more than listen.

 ya i didnt even see tha, but you know of any one selling so speakers let me know, i would like some forte or la scalas
