Other than bass extension -aren't Belles the same thing?  

If the above assumption is correct - than simply adding a subwoofer might be a better investment.  It seems that used belles sell for more than used khorns too...

The Belles are a bit different. The midhorn is a K500 and not a K400 like LaScala and Khorn. It also doesn't have to be in a corner and the ability to move it to get a good stereo image is great. I seem to remember being told the bass bin went a little higher than the La Scala's. I do miss my Belles their strengths are enough to compete with so many speakers. Klipsch genius indeed. The glory days of the company IMO.

Also if someone wanted to go two way a K510 tractrix horn could be used without problem.

I may be missing something here; so many audiophiles spend thousands on sources, amps, speakers and even cables; yet we wire our crossovers like this? The postive lead going to the squawker has the following connections (at least that are visible in the photo): 1 tab quick-disconnect, 2 ea fork lug across a cheap TB, 1 pin-type quick disconnect and 1 crimped butt splice. Wouldn't we be much better served by using point to point wiring and soldered connections? As far as I know, all Kilpsch speakers work pretty darn well as designed, but can they not be improved slightly?

Nothing against you, Ray; I would love to take those Belles off your hands!
