I found a craigslist listing where this guy near me has these Klipsch RP-5's for sale for $500 that I've never heard of. I was going to wait for a good pair of Fortes to show up on ebay, but is this an especially good deal?

If you mean RB-5 or even RF-5 I would say wait on some Fortes.  Same for F-3s.  Find a pair you can pick up, you don't want to risk shipping.

Gotcha.  Don't really know much about those.  Forte's do have real wood veneer though.

might be fun to play with...   but they aren't forte's.......          All depends on your wants and needs, but I don't think the price on these makes tham a have to have.....
