    Hi all,   I am restoring some older speakers and they have 2 8"woofers at 16ohms and just a capacitor for a crossover.  I am looking to replacing these woofers but it seems 16 ohms are non-existant.  If I use 2 8ohm drivers, is there something I can do either with the crossover(which I plan on replacing), or how I hook them up that I can retain the impedence of 8 ohms?

    Without great frequecy response & sensitivity, what do you have left???

     You can use an autoformer to double the impedeance of your circut.  There are variuos manufacturers out there.  Shoot me an email if you need help.

    55-1625 from MCM

    Both Parts Express and MCM have plenty of 4 ohm drivers that you could wire in series for an 8 ohm load.

    Never heard of an autoformer. 

    So wiring 2 4ohms in series = 8 ohm load eh...hmmmm.
