i'm planning to purchase rw12d subwoofer to add to my refrence line of speakers.

i plan to hook this sub to onkyo 705 (via LFE input on sub), which has one sub pre out, the question which comes to my mind (my first experince with a powered sub) is that will the volume of this sub increase and decrease the same way other Onkyo 705 powered speakers will or is it that the sub volume remains same irrespective of the volume on Onkyo tx sr 705.

 the volume is controlled by your 705 the gain on you sub remains constant.  the gain (read power for sub) does not change unless you adjust this directly on the subwoofer. volume is changed with your remote and the onkyo manages line levels to adjust the volume you hear while playing your media.  hope the helps.
