    Subwoofer resistor/solder problem

My speakers (Promedia 2.1) have been great for the last few years, but recently I noticed that after I turned the power off and back on, the sub would take a while to start working again.  Now it only makes very quiet sounds if I turn the volume up real high.  I pulled the subwoofer apart and noticed that two of the solder points were different looking than the rest (they looked like they had been heated with a torch).  The resistors also look like they have hairline cracks in them when I look very closely.  I lightly tapped the resistors on the other side and the solder point broke loose very easily:

Does anyone think that this can be fixed?  I have not attempted any repair myself; and will probably take it to a repair shop if it's deemed fixable.  I can post more pictures as well if needed.  Thanks!

     Nick
