    srobak:

I checked for other posts and threads regarding this movie, and couldn't find one... so...

I know it is late in the game, but if any of you do not have this movie yet - GET IT. I picked up the HD-DVD version tonight, and watched it in DTS. Good lord, what a sonic feast. Really lets your system flex it's muscles.  The whole movie was just incredible.

The huge Malco theater (Memphis?) that serves as a benchmark for the most advanced all-Klipsch theater sound install uses that movie as it's sonic benchmark for system test. There's lots of 18 Hz stuff in there to show off Roy Delgado's subwoofer designs, among other things.

His comment to me was: "Michael Bay really cares about sound quality.".......................no kidding. I have the non-HD DVD version I bought used from Blockbuster and it Rocks the House. You also need to add Master and Commander, and Polar Experss to your collection for sound.

I KNOW the Blu Ray will be better.

They will look about the same.

    Re: Transformers HD-DVD vs. Blu-Ray

The Transfomers HD-DVD has a high bit rate DD+ sound track that is lossy. The quality of the DD+ sound track is one of the best out there. The Blu-Ray may have a lossless Dolby TruHD sound track.

After my last car crash, posting became a pain literally. As usual, the other fellow was uninured.

I've noticed that Klipsch has been pushing the envelope while I wasn't around. The new speakers look interesting.

quite possibly the stupidest thing I've ever seen/heard on my system. what a lot of noise, not at all a good test of a system.

Michael Bay's movies are so bad he got his own, ahem, tribute song in Team America--World Police.

Yes.  Academy award quality.  Except it pissed off the Academy.  Which makes it that much more quality.  Which was the point of the movie in the first place.

Is it better than Rock Em Sock Em Robots?

JB---No.  Michael Bay's movies suck really bad.  Really really bad.  Why he gets funding for another bad movie after the last is one of Hollywood's mysteries.  Someone out there knows the truth though.  I'm sure it's not pretty.

I do believe that the Blu-ray version will be outstanding.  I hope that they release Jurassic Park in Blu-ray eventually as well.  For standard devinition it does so work out for your speakers as well set in DTS.  Does anyone think they will release the indiana jones collection on Blu-ray when the new one hits the stores?

I just picked up the standard def version and it doesnt have DTS as an option just DD.  Is there a standard def dvd with DTS?  It does have a Thailand language option i dont think i have seen that before.
