Though it had gotten light use, I had been a happy iFi owner for a year, when I bought my boyfriend an iGroove at the Apple store as a birthday gift last Feb.
iFi: The subwoofer on my iFi stopped working shortly thereafter for no apparent reason. It was plugged into a surge protector and was used once every week or so at moderate volumes. The2 attached speakers work fine when used with other stereos, however the subwoofer and dock attachment will not power on (tried other electrical outlets in other homes as well to verify it wasn't a fusebox or surge protector issue).
iGroove: My boyfriend uses it in his office and loves the ability to hear the fullness of the music at his desk at volumes inaudible standing outside his office. Recently, however, he reported that the volume had stopped functioning on his iGroove. He said that he could not turn up the volume pasta "whisper-quiet, barely audible" level. When he brought home the malfunctioning unit, I checked the volume limit on the iPod, which was set to max. We then tried re-syncing the iPod after setting the volume equalizer within iTunes. We then attempted to play the iPod on the igroove and hooked into the home stereo. On the home stereo (Denon receiver), the iPod's music plays normally. On the iGroove, sound only plays from the left side - no sound from the right.
Does anyone have experience/suggestions on how to fix either of these 2 problems: 1) iFi subwoofer that won't power on or 2) malfunctioning speaker on the iGroove?
