I just purchased an iGroove and it doesn't charge my iPod Nano (8G, 4th generation). I get a message on the screen saying "Charging is not supported with this accessory" when I power it on (using the remote). It's solidly plugged into the connector so why doesn't it charge. It almost defeats the purpose of having these speakers, if it doesn't charge. The manual says it does so either my unit is bad or the manual is wrong.
At first I didn't use the extra docking piece that comes with it for the Nano but even installing it didn't fix the problem.
Also, it plays my audiobooks which I don't want it to do. It randomly goes through the music files, audio books and podcasts instead of sticking with the music only. This is even more irritating than the lack of charging.
Did I just waste $$ on something that doesn't do what it's advertised to do?
Answer: I did a search for this error message and found many others in my situation. Apparently Apple has changed the charging mechanism and has supposedly told these other manufacturers to change their adapters but many haven't. This is true for iPhone too but the 1st/2nd gen iPods are fine. Great, now I have a useless set of speakers, thanks a lot Klipsch - that's the last I'll be buying from you.
Thanks, Deborah
