    WANTED: RB-75's and Ceiling Speakers

Hi, I am a newbe to the community. I currently have a bunch of BOSE speakers and am looking to upgrade. After reading many reviews and going to my local Hi Fi house, I am digging Klipsch. I really liked the RF-63's but were way to big for my space, I then checked out the RB-81's sounded pretty good but looked a bit cheep and did not quite do it for me. That brings me to the RB-75's. I have not heard these speakers but from all the reviews it seems that it would be the perfect speaker bridging the gap between the RF-63 and the RB-81. Also I have a little sunroom that I am building and I am looking for a pair of decent ceiling speakers.

Welcome, tcastrinoes!!!  You have chosen wisely in your move to Klipsch.

Are you looking for new speakers, used speakers, or either?

What cabinet finish do you prefer?

    What is your budget?

What is your in-ceiling application and room sizes and configurations?

Another really good "bookshelf" speaker you may consider is the RB-5, depending on answers to questions above.  I believe Michael Colter (colterphoto1) has a beautiful pair of maple RB-5's for sale.  He may also have some other pieces that may interest you.

    Enjoy the journey . . . . .

Re: WANTED: RB-75's and Ceiling Speakers

I'm not sure if the RB75's are going to bridge any gap or simply smack around RF 63's or RB 81's; it is a lot of speaker in a healthy package.  I personaly have not heard the 63's, but I can assure you that the 75's are nothing to frown at, and can run along side RF 7's any day providing a sub is in the background picking up the lower end.

I know that they are not making the RB-75's anymore but new in a Cherry finish would be my preference. I have no problem with used ones in good condition. My budget would depend on wether they are new or used but I am willing to pay a fair rate. My sunroom is 10 foot by 20 foot and I am looking to install only one pair at the end of the room so the sound does not interfer with the my kitchen. Again new or used does not matter.

Re: WANTED: RB-75's and Ceiling Speakers

That's what I am shooting for the RB-75's with my Velodyne sub. Also I just picked up a pair of new CDT-5650-C ceiling speakers for $400.00. Crazy I was surfing the net looking for a deal and found them at the store I was at yesterday were the sales guy was trying to charge me $700.00. I guess he did not know they were on sale or maybe they are just on sale on the internet.

    Thanks,

Re: WANTED: RB-75's and Ceiling Speakers

The RB75 is a lot of speaker. If you hang out here long enough eventually you will find a pair. they are not cheap- be prepared to pay top dollar based on Blue book values.Good luck with your search. The dealer here had an ad on craigslist. I called in response to the ad- 250.00 cheaper on an RC-64 than quoted in person. Your story does not surprise me.
