    Original price of Forte's.

Could someone please tell me what Forte speakers sold for at stores back in the mid to late 80's? I have seen $1200 posted but didn't know if that was for one or a pair! Also, what was real price at the stores out the door? Nobody pays MSRP.

    Thanks, Jack

Last known MSRP for Forte (top line) Forte II (bottom line). Back then prices varied based on finish. So yeah about $1200 per pair. Can't say what a standard discount of MSRP was in that era.

    $1086-b / $1180-wo,oo / $1238-wl,ol
    $1198 finish black / $1298 oil / $ $1360 lacquer

What were the other Klipsch line speakers going down the price line starting at the La Scala's in that era? I'm just getting into the Klipsch bug but don't know exactly what i am looking at when i see the model names. It would be nice to have a reference with a price to a model name. Looking for MSRP back then.  Hope this isn't asking too much. Thanks for the info.

For info on the various models, study the discontinued models on the main Klipsch website.

New prices really don't apply at all, stick around here to learn more about them. Garage Sale Forum or 2ch or HT is where most of the goings on are.

    Re: Original price of Forte's.

Thanks Colter for the link. I had tried before to find that but must didn't look good enough. The place i am going with this is to find out what speakers are priced now compared to new and that gives me a baseline of what to look for. For instance, there seems to be a lot of Heresy on the market and they are getting good money for used ones but not sure what they sold for new. On the other hand, Chorus and Forte's are harder to find. Does this mean that Heresy's are a better deal or Chorus and Forte's are better since people tend to hold on to them? I recently picked up a set of Forte's for $230 and they need a little light sanding and oil on the wood. I guess that is a fair price but didn't know at the time what they cost new. If i look for a set of Chorus i wouldn't know if it was a good deal or not. I know i'll have to do my own research on all this but if someone bias had a pecking order on these speakers it would make my research a lot easier. Anyway, thanks for the earlier info, truly appreciate it!!!!
