    RC-7 V.S. RC-62 - Has anyone compared these speakers?

    Hello everyone,

Has anyone had a chance to compare these two speakers RC-7 and the RC-62 ? If so, is there a big difference in how they sound.

I'm buying for my RF-3's (front), rc-3II (center), Definitive UIW RSS II (rears) and Denon 3808CI. Home theater and music.

The rc-3 can't keep up with the RF-3 or Definitive.

    Thank for your help

I had a 2001 pair of RF 3s before Heritage. Bought them new. Used a number of receivers and outboards with them. The Rf3 to me is a sleeper that seems to play larger than its size and price. The RC3 gets murdered trying to keep up with the Rf3 particulary if there is a powerful amp involved on all channels. i listened to the RC62 anf the RC64 and selttled on the 64- knowng that I was going to go larger in the near future. I think the 62 is the ticket or even the 64. Understand that the center channel is IMHO the most important part of an HT setup. Carries as much as 60%+ of the  program material. Nothing is worse than a center that is lagging behind. Been there- Done that.

I personally think that the RC7 is better suited to 7 series speakers as they have a unique sound IMHO.

Go with either the 62 or the 64.

On most tracks keeping up with the rears is not an issue.

Not like this has other than tangiantle reference, but we have the RF-52/RC-52 series in a room that is 25 x 20 x 8, the center channel parked under the ridicuously large tv set.  My bedroom (15 x 8 x 8) is all Heritage (Fore II's and Heresy II's) and frankly I am for the most part impressed by the R?-52 series.   Although I am not crazy about a two way horn system, still, all in all, the speaker sounds pretty darn good.  All good speakers have some kind of personality, and theses ltlle guys are very agreeable.  Fortuhnatley we sleep in her bedroom, which has a bed, I have a bed roll and a bunch of tech junk.  My bedroom, nerd heaven.

    Thanks,

    MFK

I am really familiar with the RF-52's.  Iheard the RF-62's once in BetBuy, I sou;dve had the pair for $250, I sould've grabbed them.  The RF-62 has a much beefier sound.  The cabinet structure is different in the ^2's and they are just a larger, more substantial sustem

    Thanks,

I've owned both the RC-7 and the RC-64.  Both are fantastic speakers.  I have heard the RC-52 (not impressed) and the RC-62 (very nice speaker) at Best Buy.  If you watch a lot of movies, you can pick up an RC-7 for less than $400.

Re: RC-7 V.S. RC-62 - Has anyone compared these speakers?

So I guess your saying I can't go wrong if I choose rc-7 or the rc-62 (close in price).

I was wondering how much different the rc-7 sounds compared to the rc-62? Do the 8 inch woofers sound better than the 6.5 and did the Twin front-firing ports upgrade the sound from the RC-7.

I will probably be going with the RC-62 because it's the closet match to the RF-3's.

Also I always thought my RF-3 were way to bright matched with my Yamaha Rx-v1400, but I upgraded to a Denon 3808CI and it smoothed out the treble. Believe it or not I then bi-wired them and the sound improved so much that I'm now back to having the RF-3's as my reference comparison standard. I tested the speaker with it not bi-wired and it didn't sound nearly as good as with the bi-wired. I even compared them to some epos M12i's I have and IMO the epos suck. No detail at all and the dynamics could not match the RF-3's. The epos are $1200.00 speakers. I paid $400.00 but total waste of money. Maybe they need tubes to power them or something to make them sound good. (BTW I paid $600.00 for the RF-3's)

With that being said I don't know if I'm staying with Klipsch or not. I like Boston Acoustics, PSB didn't sound too bad but didn't wow me. Have to do some more listening.

Thanks everyone for your opinions it is greatly appreciated!
