I just bought a pair of heresys of ebay for $375 and they are awesome. But I have an older Yamaha A-420 Integrated Amplifier and I need to know how powerful it is. So I was wondering if any of you guys had one of these amps and knew how powerful it is.

I don't think it is near 50 wpc. My CA-800 was 45 wpc in Normal and 8 wpc in Class A. I'd guess 20 wpc; more than enough for most music through La Scalas.

I would say Busa is correct about this Integrated amp.

I could not find any info this particular model at the Yamaha site but the blue book does list the A-420 at 50wpc.The A-520 does show at 75wpc so that makes sense in the Yamaha scheme of things.
