I recently auditioned the complete Reference series at a dealer in Athens, Greece. I was really impressed and I'm ready to buy a 5.1 system consisting of RF series speakers.

I'm however concernced whether an update to the RF series is planned for the near future.

I have a bad reputation of buying AV gear only to find out, usually in a couple of months time, that new replacement models are out for the same price.
Happened to me already with my CRT TV, my DVD player, my AV amp and even my current B&W speakers.

So please, if anyone has any piece of information regarding a Reference series update/replacement date, share it with me and save me from even more embarassment.

I suggest that you get in touch with the Audio Club of Athens. Great guys- we have a member there.

The Reference series is currently in it's 4th version. I do not have any advance notice of planned changes for a 5th version, but have no doubt that the Reference will be with us for some time to come.

That happens to everyone.  You would be hard pressed for it not to happen.

You could always buy used and save some money there.

If you buy the current reference, or even older used reference of a prior series, you will be very happy for years to come as long as you don't skimp....IE RF 15

As my room is kind of small and my budget kind of low, I think the RF series is the obvious choice for me to experience the Klipsch sound, both in movies and 2-channel music.
Since no update is currently known to be planned, I guess there is no reason to wait before buying.

I wonder if you guys could recommend what 5.1 RF series setup I should go for, based on a "DIY blueprint" of my room, with dimensions / furniture positions / opennings etc

  I would say to start a new thread in the Home Theater section.

Where are you located?  How much are you looking to spend?  Is this going to be for HT only?  If for HT and music what is the percentage for each?

Also I would say to go and listen to the speakers with your own music to decide what speakers you like best.  In the end only you can decide which speakers are the right ones for you.
