    Subwoofer is silent

I can't figure it out. I got a ProMedia 2.1 system today and the speakers work PERFECT. They sound fantastic, but strangely the subwoofer is silent. Strange because the DIN cable passes through the subwoofer and the subwoofer powers the speakers right?

Can anyone shed some light on the situation?

I'm using a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum sound card (I won't buy Creative again I promise).

    Any help is appreciated.

    Re: Subwoofer is silent

I am in the same boat.  This is actually my second set of Promedia 2.1's.  The first set I had blew a fuse and was back up.  After moving I plugged it in, woofer hummed and then blew up one of the satellites.  Bummer.  I went ahead and bought another set new off the shelf.  These worked for about 2 weeks, then the sub-woofer went silent.  At least I have my satellites this time.  I actually live in Indiana and talked with one of their senior engineers on a plane ride back.  Klipsch, I love your sound, but bemoan your durability.

Update:  I called the Klipsch service number Amy posted.  A friendly rep informed me that Best Buy has an in-store replacement program that honors the 1 year warranty from Klipsch.  He gave me the number for Best Buy, who's service was much worse but ultimately successful!  Hopefully this new set will last much longer.  Or at least until Klipsch releases an updated Promedia 2.1 that's as good as these.  My thanks to Amy and her support staff.

Did you check all the pins in the DIN plug for any damage?

Also try another sound source besides your soundcard to see if that makes a difference.

    Re: Subwoofer is silent

There is 100% no damage on the DIN plug

So far Ive tried the speaker on my PC, my phone, 2 mp3 players, (i think thats enough source) and it still gives the same amount of volume

Im trying to remove the Control Pod from the right speaker but wont seem to come out, ive tried everything to remove it but it just wont budge

    Any advice on removing them?

Also, heres a pic of my ghetto wiring (white wire is from my old keyboard lol)
