My 5.1 amp suddenly stopped working and when I opened it up I found that both the fuse and the varistor (MOV) had blown.

Replacing the fuse is pretty easy as the specs are written on the board itself (125V 5A). I am, however, having a difficult time finding a replacment for the MOV since I don't know its specifications. So I was wondering if anyone could tell me the specs for the replacment MOV.

The part number is 14D181K, where the 14 refers to the physical size, and the 181 refers to the voltage. You can find an alldata sheet on it. As I recall it is 115 volts, and 50 joules, peak of 4500 amps (I'm not positive about the final numbers). It is a basic, conservatively rated protector for North American electronics.
