skonopa you just took me back many years. i saw molly hatchet open up for blue oyster cult in long beach, ca probably around 1979 or 1980. boy what a night that was. my friend drove. he got a flat on the way to the show. due to the poor condition of the car, we had trouble even getting the lug nuts off (they were stripped if i recall), anyway the sheriff pulls up and helps us change the tire--doesn't notice the smell of alcohol and maybe some other aroma too. get to the show in time to see molly hatchet do their last number. blue oyster cult sucked--not a huge fan to begin with, and feedback like crazy all through the show. i had went to see molly hatchett to begin with. my friend is completely stoned after the show and hits another car in the parking lot (he and the other driver argued a bit then went their separate ways), then his engine blows up on the drive home. so we're walking along the side of the freeway at 3:00 am. finally got my brother in law to drive out to pick us up. oh the days...

skonopa: Hey Steve: Nice to hear from you! You were missed for sure at the Indyfest. I remember working the Hope, Arkansas show with you at the farmhouse Klipsch rented. That was a lot of fun and it's where you, me, Customsteve01 and Dr.Who (to mention a few) all began good friends. Wasn't pitching that huge tent a bear? LOL It's good to hear you are having such great entertainment so close to home and that store re-opening sounds like the owner really cares and put oin the dog for everyone. That's a rareity these days for sure. Even with the small turnout we had it was a lot of fun, but considering this year was an "unofficial" Klipsch Pilgrimage, I think we did really well. I don't think I heard anyone say they were disappointed. I hope you have a real nice family reunion in Indy next month. Take care, Steve! -Glenn

After seeing all your pictures and the additional write-ups, now I REALLY wish I could've been there. It would've been such a blast to have been out there to hang with you guys. I've always enjoyed it in the past (and often times find myself looking more forward to the Friday night mixer thing we usually do instead of the actual event ) Well, like I said, I'll be there in July and I did drop an e-mail to Michael about wanting to come by for a day and eveing (hey Mike? You get that e-mail I sent you?). Hopefully I can get a chance to drop by Roger's as well. We shall see.

Yeah, I bet it was nice not to have to deal with that huge tent! . Did look like some serious work to hump those big-@$$ speakers around. Actually would've been right up my alley (I am big guy and work out at the gym every other day! To bad I was not there to lend my muscles).

Yeah, this little concert venue they got here now (Celebrate Virginia Live) is actually pretty nice. Just this past Friday, I saw ZOSO, which is a Led Zepplin tribute band. Holy #$!+ did they kick some serious @$$! It might as well have been the real deal up there with Jimmy Page and Robert Plant! Before them was a Rush tribute band called Limelight who also kicked some serious @$$ themselves! Being a big fan of Rush, I was stoked at seeing these guys and it was about as close to the genuine article as you could get without them actually BEING Rush. They did a superb job playing many of the Rush classics.

I don't think anybody came out disappointed as it looked like you guys had a real blast up there. I am guessing (as I cannot speak for eveyone) that the folks did did manage to come was grateful that at least SOMETHING was still done, even if Klipch themselves could not officially sanction it. It is awesome that Roger and Mike stepped up to the plate and decided to have something anyway. If it wasn't for the fact that I was going to be out there anyway for the family reunions, I most likely would've came (and looking back, I am thinking that I should've came anyway). However, during the hocky game (I did get back from the Molly Hatchet show in time to see the last half of the third period), I probably would've been the only one in that room cheering since I am a Pens fan! Oh well, as nice as it was to see my favorite team win, it is not like it would've made any real difference in my own life anyway. I still gotta get up for work, and so forth.

I hope to get to see you again sometime soon. Hopefully (hint, hint), something could be done next year. If not officially by Klipsch, I am Hopeing we could get something put together on our own. Well, lets just Hope.

I was in Madison IN for their Bicentennial celebration for a show last night. Readings and folk music about life in early wilderness Ohio valley. Off to Danville this afternoon for a 4 band gig. My good friend Karl B. has a fantastic PA with Midas console and all the trimmings and I'm doing some educational gigs with him.

There were two photographers that I have been trying to get a hold of to get more photos but I don't know who they were yet. One looked like a pro. Maybe he worked for Nuvo magazine.

Anyhow thanks to both of you for your loyal dedication to Klipsch and being such great friends.

I know my annual posts about these events are very long, but I haven't heard any complaints, yet. No, I am not campaigning for complaints! j.4knee: Hi, Jim! How are things in Sunny, Southern-Cal? We've got plenty of thunder-bumpers up here in the great, white north THIS weekend: Thank goodness we had nicer weather last weekend! It's been pretty hot and humid the past two days, in fact, it hit the low 90s in Indy yesterday! Ugggh! Here in Detroit it was about 84 with a humidity around 92% and it poured all night long. I think we got about 2" of rain in a very short period of time. Wisconsin and Indiana both have reported flooding.

You are correct, sir; the sound was simply amazing from that full-on, Palladium system! You would have appreciated it as would any true Klipsch fan. Naturally, the room helped some, too as it has some wall and ceiling treatments in it, but not to discount the speakers abilites; many of us have heard other systems in that same room in years-past and NOTHING compares with what we heard from those Pals, in my opinion. You were missed and I hope we can all get together next year. Verna says to say hello to your wonderful bride! - Glenn
