4 Conductor Headset vs 3 Conductor Headphone Compatability

Headset =4 conductor stereo headphone with mic

Headphone = 3 conductor stereo headphone

Do normal headphones with no mic work correctly as headphones in headset jack for headphones with mic?

My experience says no.. My Image X10 only play in Samsung Galaxy S II if pushed and held in.

Do headsets with mic work correctly as headphones in a headphone jack?

Would say Image X7i work as headphones in standard headphone jack. I still use c1999 mp3 player with standard 3 conductor headphone jack.
Can the 4 conductor headset plug damge the 3 conductor headphone jack? I wouldn't think so but not sure how the jacks are normally builit.

I have bought a s4a and downloaded the Klisch App. But the app does not work at all.

It's not possible to adjust minium nor maximum volume, the button control does not work, even in debug mode not trace of any event on the headphone button.

I have as mobile SP-360 (Simvalley) Android 4.0.4

The pitty thing is: The volume is so high, that even on the lowest volume of the smartphone it is too high to listen radio for a long time and add. on the lowest level I cannot use the phone (to silent). ONly on Music-Player i can use the equilizer of themusic player to reduce the volume.

Any ideas to make the app work? #

I have been a Klipsch fan for over 30 years. My whole home setup is Klipsch Reference,, even my iMac speakers are Klipsch Pro-Media 2.0. Yesterday I purchased some Image s4i for my iPhone 4/iPad. I purchased them at Radio Shack they were marked down 47%. I put them in to my iPhone and played some music from my Pandora account and was very disappointed in there sound! They were extremely harsh and tiney sounding. I took them back immediately. I had owned some Bose in earbuds they sounded awesome. But they wore completely out, wires broke and etc. Did I not give them time to break in? Is there other silicone ear pieces that help to increase the bass, and cut down on the tiness sound? Terry

It is possible to fix the cable of the right headphone? After 3 years using it the black plastic braked and the cable is lose now and has no connection to the speaker. I live in Germany and I willing to pay a repair instead to buy a new one ! Thanks in advance to everybody.

Recently I got a pair of the S4i rugged headphones and they have changed my life. Well, not literally, but I do absolutely love them. I am a snowboarder and I used to never ride with my phone. I have an iphone but I don't like the bulky cases so I would just leave it in the car when I rode so I wouldn't break it. With these new headphones with the controls and microphone, I am finally able to ride with my phone and answer it with it never leaving my pocket. I could be wearing no gloves or big bulky mitts and it is still super easy to answer and I don't have to worry about dropping my phone or getting it all wet. Also when I go for runs around the city with the S4i I am able to do the same thing with out breaking stride to stop and answer a call, change a song, or even turn up the volume, it is done with ease. Not to mention the sound quality and comfort are amazing. I have had plenty of in-ear headphones and they all hurt and would fall out when running. The S4i is super comfy, sounds excellent and never falls out of my ear. THANK YOU KLIPSH!!! you really are the keepers of sound!!

image one vs reference one

hey guys im looking at getting some new head phones. i cant figure out what ones better. whats better about each. i tried both last summer at the Klipsch pilgrimage but forgot what i like about each so i was wondering if one of you guys could enlighten me. money isnt an issue. but i dont want m40s. so i guess a lil but not between the two

The discontinued X-5's are my favorite Klipsch headphone. When I saw that the X-7i used the same balanced arature driver it really got my attention... BUT - I am an Android user. I am really hoping to see the release of an X-7A version. Any other forumites out there holding out hope for these?

Just got my S4A II, downloaded Klipsh app from Google Play --> it's all good except for the volume control, not working at all, neither with media nor with phone calls!!!

Can somebody please help ???

Hi All,

So I noticed there had been some similar posts previously, but I didn't want to hi-jack another post with my question so thought I'd do a new one.

I noticed Alex, one of the Klipsch Forum Admins, had commented on these other posts so hoping there's an answer here somewhere! In a previous post last year some time I saw the following comment from Alex:

"The X10 and X10i sound exactly the same. The "i" designates that it has a remote that works specifically with iOS devices. There is no listed for a X10A because we have no made an Android-specific version of the X10....Both the X10 and X10i will work with your Android phone. It will just not have full remote compatibility."

The last bit about not having full functionality suggests there is some, so my question is what would the X10i remote be able to do on an android phone, such as the GS3?

I don't need volume control or the ability to answer calls, it's more the music player I'm interested in - my current Klipsch ProMedia's are able to Play / Pause / Skip Forward, if the X10i's could do that to it'd be great!

If anyone has tried these with an S3 would be great to hear what you found?

Using iPhone Headset With Android Phone - What Will Work

The selection of Klipsch Android headsets is limited to the Image S4a. If one wants a headset with better sound quality such as the Image X7 or Image X10 will the iPhone versions work as basic phone headsets on the Android phones?

I have an issue with one of the ear buds on the Klipsch Image S4i Headphones i purchased in August 2012. No sound is coming through the left bud. The headphones have had very light use so far. I have had a look on the Klipsch website and they state that "In line with consumer regulations warranty service is provided through the retailer from whom the product was purchased. Please contact the retailer, providing proof of purchase for the product, and follow their warranty procedure." Unfortunately the seller is not replying to any messages, i purchased them from the website play.com. Could anyone recommend someone at Klipsch i could contact to get them repaired or replaced? I miss having my tunes on the way to work. Thank you. Simon

I'm looking at getting a pair of headphones and have been going back and forth between Bluetooth ones or reference ones. Does anyone know if they will be releasing reference Bluetooth? I hear the bt1s have more bass. I'm not a bass head but do appreciate a nice punchy rounded sound. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

X10i headset controls not working

The controls on my X10i headset have suddenly stopped working; no pasue/start or volume control. The audio remains as good as ever.

I cannot identify any damage on the cable so I am puzzled.

I have tried on both my iphone 4 and ipad and the controls do not work on either.

I note that I have recently installed the iOS 6.1.2 on both the iphone and ipad so am wondering if it might be the culprit.

I would appreciate any comments/advice ifrom anyone who has experienced a similar problem.

S4 II changes?

I am sure that this has been covered. If so, then please link it for me because the SEARCH function did not get me what i wanted ("S4 II changes" did not show much).

If not, then can someone tell me what the changes are from the original design? I have the original S4. Will likely buy S4A II in the near future. Besides the cable, what else? Did the diaphragm or magnet(s) change? Did the interior of the buds change?

Some reviewers mentioned that the "sibilance" was fixed with the S4II. For me, i did not hear much of that in the original...but just wondering if there were any "fixes" internally besides the cable.

Image One Bluetooth Power/Pairing Button Unresponsive

I recently received these headphones directly from Klipsch under warranty as a replacement for a pair I had purchased from Amazon. The original pair developed a broken stem into the earpad after limited usage. Klipsch handled the warranty issue to my complete satisfaction. I successfully paired the new headphones to several devices. A day or two later, when I went to use them for the first time, the headphones wouldn't turn on. They appear to be unresponsive to any pressing of the power button. I made sure that the battery was fully charged, but still no response to pressing the power/pairing button. Any thoughts on this issue?

Klipsch needs to copy this app!! It works as advertised with my S4A II and my Galaxy Note 2. The volume actually works!! This app so far works most of the time...about on par with the Klipsch app. Hey, it's free and beggers can't be choosers!

X10 vs s4

So I have seen a few threads in regards to having issues with the x10 headphone purchased directly from amazon and I figured i'd touch base here t osee if anyone had anyone had some anwsers for me. So My s4's broke and I forgot about the klipsch warranty(though klipsch has since replaced them for me I love you guys)

So I purchased the x10 directly from amazon fulfillment. I was eager and excited to listen to them but, When I put them in my ears and played my favorite FLAC album I found that they lacked definition and detail. The S4's seemed to have better range and slightly more bass. Is it just me or is the a common issue with these. I believed that I was "upgrading". Did I recieve a dud as well or what. Any Input would be amazing.

How to determine proper ear-bud fit?

I just purchased a pair of S4i (II) in-ear headphones. It is both my first set of higher-end headphones, as well as true in-ear, canal based phones. Previously I was using the standard iPhone buds, which annoyed me for many reasons, not the least of which was them either feeling like they were going to fall out, or actually falling out, during even basic movement. My question is really this: what should the proper fit of these phones be? Should I be looking for a really tight seal fit (larger bud size), which isolates more noise and gives a more secure feel, but gives slightly more pressure on my ears and isn’t as comfortable as the other option. I imagine this will make longer-term continuous listening a little less comfortable. It also feels like the “reflective” sounds of the bass come through a bit better. Or should I be looking for something a little bit looser (smaller size), which doesn’t isolate as much noise, isn’t as secure, has less bass presence, but has less pressure and I don’t “feel” them as much in my ear (more comfortable)? I know the classic response is “whatever I feel is right”… but I’m looking for expert guidance based on experience with these types of phones. Thanks in advance.

S4 rugged inline remote...any issues?

Hey guys, I have been through at least 4 different types of in ear headphones (Monster iSport, Sennheiser 685, etc) that have the in line remote/volume control. Each of them I have ordered through Amazon I have returned because after 3 or 4 heavy workouts (sweat a lot), the volume control always shorts out. The Ipod will bring up volume control, music starts to skip all over, etc. It's been painful. I just ordered a pair of the S4 ruggeds as I try to find a brand that actually is waterproof around the in line volume control. Anyone have these and tested to make sure that the inline remote is also waterproof?

Crackling noise when insering ear phones

Every time I put them in my ears there's a crackling noise from the things. It feels like it is forming an air-tight seal with the ear and when I push it further in, it is causing something to get compressed inside the earphone.Is this a concern? Sometimes just adjusting the ear phones causes this noise. I am worried it might be the speaker diaphragm itself getting pushed.

I was using a pair of these http://www.klipsch.com/image-s2-in-ear-headphones for about 2 years and never had this problem, but those had a tiny pinhole on the earphones to let the air out.

X10 Should not have been discontinued

Considering both comfort and sound quality, the X10 is the best IEM. I have been recommending the X10 to friends and colleagues and everyone has been quite pleased with the performance. On the other hand, I was very disappointed to see that the X10 has been discontinued! It seems that the X10 has been replaced by the X10i which is essentially an Apple headphone product complete with controls and a microphone that functions with Apple products. Unfortunately, the X10i is not a product that will be taken seriously by a serious audiophile. Most all manufactures of IEMs offer a standard IEM that does not provide a microphone or Apple controls because they realize that many customers of high-end IEMs don't use Apple products and therefore have no need or desire for the microphone and Apple controls. They see these frills as additional components that can become points of failure. When these customers notice that only an Apple version of the X10 is available (X10i), they will quickly look elsewhere to another manufacture of IEMs that is more catering to the audiophile market and Klipsch will loose these sales. Unfortunately at this time, Klipsch doesn't even offer a flagship (non-apple) IEM product because the X10 has been discontinued! I believe that discontinuing the X10 was a mistake that sends a message to the IEM market that Klipsch is only interested in the Apple Market. In other words, if you don't want or need the microphone on the X10i and the Apple Controls, then you as the customer should take your business to another IEM manufacturer that offers IEMs without the microphone and Apple Controls. Hopefully Klipsch will change its strategy and bring the X10 back into the product line as a standard flagship product offering. Klipsch should offer both the X10 and the X10i.
