My understanding is the S4s are not out yet and won't be until May. I was seriously thinking about them but I needed a solution before then. Too bad I was looking forward to trying them as I do like Kilpsch.

If the fit of the Custom 1 did not agree with you, you may very well find the S4 more to your liking. I tried em and they were very comfy and they stayed put very well.

You will be able to buy these soon from our website. If you prefer you can also use the Comply eartips which are foam. These are not as comfortable but can grip better and stay in longer.

Custom 1 vs.S4

On the advice of a forum member I purchased the Custom 1s. At first I was unhappy with the sound but discovered the need to have them "fit" inside the ear canal properly. I have a high end hearing loss problem so I wanted a low priced bud ($70-80) range that would give me a clear sound. I was happy with the sound but I didn't like the plastic wrap arounds that came with them. I find it bulky and awkward. Also I find with some minor movements of my jaw the sound vanishes. I can't tell if I am doing something wrong when I fit them of I have a hard to fit ear canal. The bottom line is I am returning them. Because I like the sound quality when it works, I am now looking at the S4s, which also fit my price range. I have yet to find a release date for them other than April. When will these become available and will they have the same sound quality as the Custom 1s. I see the design is different( no plastic wrap around piece) so that is a step in the right direction .
