LaScala II vs Conwalls (II and III)

I currently have a pair of Corwall IIs in a system driven by a 28 wpc tube integrated amp (Sophia) which provides a great "counter punch" to the dynamics of my wonderfully imaging Audio Research/Maggie/Velodyne system.

Looking at getting a "new toy" after the holiday season and Id like to understand the real differences in between the LaScala and Cornwalls. I know the LaScala's bass is horn loaded but it doesn't seem to go as deep and the only real plus I see over the corwalls is that it plays louder.

Besides the less bass but louder, is there a real difference in mid/treble sound quality? If not my upgrade would be better tube fron end.

Purchasing Klipschorns Direct

Is it possible to buy a pair direct from you but in the older design. I understand the modifications you made a couple of years ago were to improve set up and so forth but, esthetically they're not as good looking as the older design. The new design looks like it's missing a front lip piece between the top and bottom portions.

Any way I know a lot of this is personal preference but since your custom building anyway thought I would ask.

Are Klipsch LaScalas available new from Klipsch in birch plywood? I have looked at the Klipsch web site, but have not seen any photos of this type of LaScala as a new product.

Could someone please tell me what Forte speakers sold for at stores back in the mid to late 80's? I have seen $1200 posted but didn't know if that was for one or a pair! Also, what was real price at the stores out the door? Nobody pays MSRP.

Is it possible to buy a pair in black but with the old platform on the bottom like the Heresy 2's? I don't like the new rounded look on the Heresy 3's. Liked it better when it was a nice solid looking piece of wood on the bottom.
