    FS: Precision Tube Tester

Precision Apparatus Co. Model 612 Tube & Battery Tester; includes the Operating Instructions and the Supplementary Tube Data book (very important tube type resource including the ECC versions, etc).

Excellent interior condition (the exterior wood is original and it has the usual scratches, etc. but it can be sanded, etc. I did not want to do it because it's original and otherwise in such good condition)

Good meter glass, perfect knobs, buttons, etc., Really big easy to read meter, etc. Can test diodes, triodes, rectifiers, tetrodes, pentodes; checks for cathode leakage, noise test pin jacks, ballast tests, etc. D'Arsonval double jeweled meter. Vintage, but easily beats buying a $300+ "modern" tester with less features.

I purchased it from Will Vincent and have used it to test a variety of tubes for my AU-111. I really don't need it inasmuch as I will only keep that one tube amp and have built up a "supply" of all of the necessary (and tested...) tubes that I would use over the next few years.

I believe HarryO is familiar with this tester, and he recommended Mr. Vincent to me last year for finding a good tube tester.

$165 plus shipping. email me through the Forum system if interested.

Noah I gave my 612 tester to a friend when I bought my Mighty Mite. I will ask him if the data sheets include a 7591. Pete

Noah, I checked with my friend and the data sheets he has does not show the settings for a 7591. I found these supplemental data sheets here for $20. http://www.radiolaguy.com/Manuals/Precision_Manuals.htm The best, Pete

    Re: FS: Precision Tube Tester

Sovtek was making a direct replacement, the 7591EH. It is about 3/16" larger in diameter than the original 7591A. JJ/ Tesla is also manufacturing a 7591S, which is the same size and diameter of the original 7591A. The test specs are supposedly supposed to be very close to the 6GM5. you could contact tubedepot.com and ask them what the test specs would be.
