    Audio System Noise

I have a surround sound setup with two RF-10's in the rear, two RF-15's in the front, and a RC-52 center, all run through a Onkyo TX-SR602. Speakers wires are Monster XP with Monster banana plugs (flex on the speaker, standard banana into the receiver). I bought the RF-15's in October of '05 and the 10's and 52 in December of '06.

The problem I am having is this: Since adding the 10's and 52, I have been getting noise. A static noise behind the sound, like fuzz. It doesn't start right away, and it starts very light. Then it gets louder and louder until it is almost equal to the sound of the television program. When it gets to that point, I turn off my receiver, and turn it back on, and the static has gone away. Though it will slowly build back up. I thought it was something to do with interference, so that is why I went and got the banana plugs. I just got around to putting them all on today (I have had some on the rear speakers for a while - I just put them on the 15's and 52) when I moved my system into another room. When I powered everything back up after moving, the buzz was there almost instantly, and got much louder than normal much faster. When I turned off the receiver and turned it back on, it didn't go away.

What's causing this, and what can I do? My wife is not going to be happy with this new turn of events, and she already thinks I should have returned them to the store a year ago - I have just been busy with work...

p.s. I seem to have accidently posted this in announcements...could someone move this to the technical forum please?

Hi -- Yep, wrong forum, and it looks like it got past people's attention.  The moderators often don't move threads or posts, so I suggest you post it again yourself, in Home Theater.  2-Channel might do it too, but try Home Theater.

Static can not be manifested by banana plugs.  It is my belief that your Onkyo is the culprit.
