    rear surrounds for 7.1?......

Hey guys, I hope that I can get someone's opinion on a dilemma I am facing. I am in the process of setting up 7.1 with my denon avr 3805. I will be using klf 20's for my mains, rc 64 center, and rs 62 for side rears. I have a set of RS-52's and a set of kg 2.5's. I'm trying to figure out which speakers would be best for my rear surrounds. I'm leaning towards using the RS-52's for rear surrounds.....I'm just not sure if rear surrounds should be a front firing speaker like my KG 2.5 or if it is better to have a triangle speaker like the RS 52 for rear surrounds. Any input would be greatly appreciated... Thanks
    Main HT 7.1 Setup:

    Denon AVR 3805
5 in 1 out HDMI switch
    Sony BDPS550
    Denon DVD3910
    Sony PS3
    XBOX 360 Elite
    Sonicview 8000HD fta receiver

    Speakers:

    KLF 20 - Mains
    RC 64 - Center
    RS 62 - Side Surrounds
    RS 52 - Rear Surrounds
    RW 12d - Subwoofer

Most would suggest using direct firing (RB series) for rear surrounds and wide dispersion speakers (RS Series) for the side surrounds.

    Yamaha RX-V1800

IMO, sell your current center channel, pick up a KLF-C7, and you can buy an inexpensive pair of direct-firing speakers for the rear surrounds with the difference..

    KSP-S6 surrounds
    KV-2 rear surrounds

    Re: rear surrounds for 7.1?......

I am using four RS-3 II's for my surrounds (2 side, 2 rear) and love them, I like the sound much better than direct firing surrounds I have had in the past as the rear effects blend all around the rear and don't seem to come from a specific place. Klipsch surround speakers also look great mounted on the wall. My fronts are RF-5's and my center is an RC-7.

    -- RC-7 center
