    Budget Tweeter

For those on limited budget on play money here is a tweeter horn combo you can do for about $70. to replace the K-77. However those of you that are not on a budget I would get Bob Crites tweeters they are excellent! Yes

This isn't just a budget tweeter... It's a fantastic budget tweeter!  I've actually done this.  Thanks to kg4guy for coming up with this idea.

Did the driver just screw on there or is it glued on there in some fashion.  Did you buy the eminence adapter for the eminence driver?

    thanks

Parts Express Piezo 2" x 5" $1.45 each # 270-041 with APT-3 adapter # 290-539 $4.29. You have to take the top off of the tweeter and epoxy the adapter on and then the APT-50 will screw on.

Another option is to use a Selenium adapter #264-322 and cut it down that way you can use any 1 " driver.

I've got a box of blown piezos if anyone wants the horns to try this project.

    Re: Budget Tweeter

Because you shared this info, and I wanted to try a Tractrix tweeter. I picked up a pair of K-94-k tweeters off of ebay to experiment with.

K-94-k to the left and an Eminence APT 80 on the right.

    Re: Budget Tweeter

The reason for the swap is the APT driver has the range and spl for use with klipsch speakers. This driver is however limited to a few horn lenses, none of which are tractrix that I know of.
