    old pink:
have a look at my Vintage PA/Concert Sound Systems pool on Flickr http://www.flickr.com/groups/586326@N24/pool/

    Thanks for the pictures!

There is something about those old cabinets that move me.  Maybe it is just my back from picking them up in days past.

I really like the picture of the Turbosounds with their torpedo phase plugs pointing at you.

Friday June 5, 2009 I was the lucky receipient of some free tickets to Coldplay and Snow Patrol.  Jenny Parker was kind enough to give me two tickets to Deer Creek because her plans didn't work out. I took my son who had never gone to a big concert before.

The bands were excellant and the sound as good as it gets.  I will blog more about this in the future.

Here is a picture with my Blackberry.  Sorry I didn't have a real lense but you know the security drill.

    Thank Jenny!

Coldplay and Snow Patrol @ Deercreek

Coming into the "Grass" seating area we came accross this small remote stage.  The premium guitars was a dead givaway that there would be a performance from this stage.  So this was where we would hangout.  Looking at the FOH array, I also noticed that we would be on axis for the outside array of speakers.

The sun was still setting while Snow Patrol played.  They showed total musicianship with all of there songs.  Unfortunatley the lighting was poor to view the stage.

Beings the trickter that I am... I happened to have brought bonoculars.  So I had decided to experiment multiple lenses with my blackberry camera.  This is what I ended up with.

As the sun was setting Coldplay came on.  Here is a picture of the venue with the Jumbotron TV.

As the daylight receded the contrast became more of an issue for the camera.  I hate tiny lenses!

The stage is coming alive with lights.  There were spheres also on stage with videow projectors inside that would project a spherical shape.  There must have been some bad ass optics inside that.

Does anyone know how that works?

How many watts ya gots.  There is certainly a lot of power consumed in this stage lighting.

Well these certainly are not the best pictures but it is clear that Coldplay can put on an awesome concert.  The colors on the stage are increadible.

So our theory paid off in spades.  The band did come to our remote little stage.  Playing Mandolins and Acoustic Guitars and a Harmonica.
