jtnfoley:Do I interpret the posts correctly, that this horn will extend the top of the mid at the expense of a little bottom?
Not exactly, this horn is very natural sounding, not colored and has a smooth response. I installed them in a Lascala with an ALK universal crossover which has a lf crossover point at 400Hz. In my opinion it sounds great, even though the 400Hz crossover point is near the Horns 384Hz Fc. I suspect raising the crossover point to 500Hz will overall better the outcome. I will need some more experianced crossover builder to verify my numbers but I believe the Inductor would need to be change to a 1.27 mH and the mid cap to a 10.6uF.
I have not run these with an AA crossover as of yet, but suspect the results to be similar.
Both the driver and lens are all responsible for dictating the frequency response. The bandpass crossover simply limits it's extension.
