I am buying some ALK Trachorn 400s for my Khorns. When I called Mr.K last week, he said that the LSs could not handle his 400s without some chain saw surgery :((.
Mr K told me that I had to decide on the squaker horn before deciding on the xover network due to the 4-5K HZ xover points as dictated by the horn used.
Could we get some feedback from users of your wooden horns. I might also be interested, but prefer to get some user feedback first.
The drop in feature for your LS horn seems Uber useful. There is also a guy in Maine doing Khorn upgrades, but with fancier drivers and tweeters their end cost is about $2000. Mind you, he uses a 2" throat, not a 1". Also, my LSs from the mid 70s (AA networks) will get Crites recaps (just ordered). Not certain I want to spend more for the ALK universals. They were being used as main room rears (and previously used as bedroom mains, but too big in current bedrooom). I now intend to use them as centers in both main room and bedroom.
Thx from New Orleans
