    Finally I join the family.

    Here's my story.

Growing up my grandfather (raised by my grandparents) owned a pair of Heresys, only i didnt always know that. Going into high school i got into sound and that was about the time that the Pro Media's were launched. I was in the market for some new speakers, heard them once and had to have them. Shortly after getting them I found my way on the Klipsch site and thats when my love of speakers began.

It was then that my grandfather showed me that thos old ass speakers sitting in the corners of the living room were the Heresys.

Fast forward ~ 6 years, me joining the Marine Corps, deploying and getting married....

I run into a pair of SB-3's at Best Buy on sale for $150. I've been using those for about the past year. Yet I still dont consider my self a true owner.

Then it happend. last weekend i'm in New Port and see this thrift store, its fairly large. My wife, kids and I decide to go and see what we see. I was hoping to score some good CD's for cheap (and I did) While I was rummaging around I start looking up on the top shelves, there I find alot of speakers. Right as we are getting ready to leave i turn a corner and WHAM. (2) RF-7's, (1) RC-7, (2) RB-5 II's. $1299.   We leave.

ALL week I thought about them, called the place twice asking if they were still there. Friday, I tell my wife that I gotta have them. No arguments....

Saturday I pay for them. Sunday I picked them up.  Today's monday and HOPEFULY i'll get to hook them up.

I've dreamed of owning these speakers since the first time I logged on to the klipsch website back in the day. It feels GREAT to know that I finally have them and got them for hella cheap.

Now currently I live at my inlaw's and my room is 10x10. My wife is going to let me hook everthing up so I can enjoy it for awhile, but after a few weeks i am gonig to have to go back to 2 channel  SB-3's and all my new R's will be out on the balcony wraped up in their boxes till we move :(

I'll have pics for sure, dont worry about that.

Correct me if i'm wrong though....  ~$1,400 (after taxes) seems to be a sick deal for the whole set up.

My grandmother wont let that fly, so no.  They unfortunatly just sit there... unused for years and years. I meen even when i figured out what they were I didnt use them that much because they were in the living room and I had my speakers in my own room..

I do remember i'd clamp 1 year shut with 1 hand and the other ear on my hsoulder, and turn his amp up (an old Yamaha Natural Sound, purchased at the same time as the Speakers, R.I.P.) and see just how far down the street i could hear the music. They were sick.

If you really are putting them on a balcony make sure and weatherproof them.

Enjoy them even if for a short time!

So my innitial impressions are wth the RC7 that i hooked up last night. I am running a 3 channel front stage,  SB-3  RC-7  SB-3.

I'm listening to some music on the cable music channels and it is painfully obvious that 1 of 2 things is true.

1.) the SB-3 is an aweful aweful speaker

2.) the RC-7 is freaking awesome.

The SB-3's are just so much brighter its crazy.

Tonights the night i get the RF-7's up the stairs. I dont think i'll be able to bring my self to put them outside.....

Yes you are not wrong there.  there once was a thread here about a poll to bring the RC7 back.  it is a very popular speaker and I still cant believe that I have one..

Wow that's an awesome deal, congrats. I personally think you should go 2 channel and sell me the rc-7 and rb-5s for cheap though.

hahaha you guys crack me up. especialy you fizzle :P

I hooked the RF's up last night. I am not happy :(

1.) Listening to CD's off an XBox + HDMI to the Plasma +RCA out to the + 200$ Yamaha receiver = A Very revealing listening session.

2.) My stupid bed 1/2 way blocks the woofers.... As forward as these speakers already are they dont need any darn help

3.) My rooms tiny, 10'x15' so they are about...7' from me. 1 side has a crib and bare wall, the other has curtins.

Listening to a Focal Test CD I have and chills went up my spine. I've listened to that CD hundreds of times in my car. (1995 Honda Del Sol with 3 way Dynaudio's, 10" SWX Alpine bhnd the pass. seat) and this is the first time I can say that listening to music at home is more enjoyable!!!!!! *the downside however.... it makes me want to push my car even further lol.

2 Channel was definatly better than 5 chan stereo, or even ProLogic II Music settings. Again though, turning it up to loud just led to alot of uncomfortable sounds that just dont belong b/c of the crap equipment.

I'll prob. be putting them up this weekend, so i'll take some pictures before I put them up.

Honestly, Every time I look at them I remember all those times when i was younger and my grandfather would take me to hillcrest hi fi. (stereo shop in texas) and i'd listen to, drool over all the different speakers. I always figured one day id get something along the lines of the RF-3 or Paradigm Monitor's. Now I have RF7's and RC7 and RB5's!!!! it just hasnt set in yet :/ I still cant believe that i picked them up for so cheap.

oh, and my wife still doesnt get it......  although.. she did seem to enjoy it when i turned on transformers. It was on HDMax. We caught it at the scene where they are fighting the scorpian like robot in the desert at the begining of the movie. I turned it up and it sounded awesome. I think she could tell the difference, but she'l never admit it, or admit that she liked it..
