    Re: RF-83

Thanks for the quick responses.  Here's a bit more detail on my situation.

Looking for new speakers for my 2 channel set up.  It consists of the following.

Parasound Halo A-21 250 watt 2 channel amp, Parasound Halo P-3 pre pmp, Cambridge Audio 840C CD unit, Denon DCM 380 five disc CD unit, APC Power Conditioner and Ipod classic connected through a Phillips remote Ipod dock.  The amp and pre amp are connected via balanced cables.

I am currently am using a pair of Polk Audio RT-2000i towers (built in powered subs) with a PSW-450 twelve inch sub.  The Polks have way too much bass.  More importantly, they have very poor mid and high range.  I prefer a "crisper" or "brighter" sound.  I have always liked Klipsch and I am still regretful I choose Polk over Klipsch several years ago.  My Polks, in my opinion, sound "muted" and "flat".  I know speaker sound is subjective, so the former is obviously only my personal opinion.

I have benn focused on the RF-83s, but am open to suggestions.  I want to purchase speakers that have "brighter" mids and highs and that match the quality of my other gear.

Any and all opinions are welcome and appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Totally agree with you there.  I had the Polk RT-800 towers with CS300 center and F/X500 rears.  They were ok, but I too like more highs and crystal clear sound.  My Klipsch CF-2's were great and my RF-83's are even better.  My polks didn't come close to the caliber of the Klipsch speakers.

If you are not buying Heritage look no further. I had a pair of these for several days and I loved them. The 1600 dollar deal if available- is a slam dunk.I had a pair bought for 1600 then the dealer threw me a curve. Otherwise I would be listening to them as we speak. Great speaker.
