Re: July 1, 2009: Ms. Rose is 90 Years-old today!

Ms. Rose had a very nice birthday yesterday. She got phone calls and visits from numerous friends and relatives wishing her a Happy Birthday. Some even sang the 'Birthday Song' to her in its entirety. She “conducted” them with her hand as she listened with a big smile on her face. She got so many cards in the mail and she said they all have a giant “90” on them. So she finally conceded and admitted to herself that she really IS 90 yesterday! LOL I think what really did her in was when her little great-grand daughter, Katie came into the house and handed her a little teddy bear with a giant “90” foil balloon tied to it. With it bobbing around the living room all day it was a continuous reminder. LOL

For dinner, Ms. Rose requested going to the local Ruby Tuesdays so that’s where Verna and I took her. She thought about ordering a strawberry margarita for a while and then decided on ice water. She ordered a petite filet mignon and lobster tail (Surf ‘N Turf) along with a baked potato and a salad. She could not finish it all as usual. As we made our way through the restaurant, all of the waitresses smiled and wished her a Happy Birthday. Mom just beamed with a big smile on her face. It was a great day, indeed. Thanks everyone. Rose truly does appreciate all of you and your kind words…and so do I. Thanks! -Glenn

Glad to hear that Picky, happy she is with both of you, Verna had a good idea to have her live with both of you and I am sure it added many more years for your mother. Yes

Your a good kid Glenn, and of course Mrs Verna for putting up with you ! Wink
