i think my house moved 2 inches off its foundation after watching this movie.

That's a good way to put it . Some serious LFE in that movie , had my doors and windows rattling .

Watched it late last nite, it was late so i couldnt watch it at the levels i wanted to.

I must say visually and sonically was outstanding..  I enjoyed watching this movie But I need to watch it again to fully understand it. I thought the opening scene was fantastic.

Maybe you should have rented the one not marked "director's cut".  That's the one I rented and it was marked as being 28 minutes longer.  Didn't seem like too much filler to me, but that's just my opinion.

I have to say I totally disagree with everyone who said this movie was great. This was one of those movies that I would not of stayed up till 230 am watching. I thought it was way too long, felt that it could of been made into two movies instead of trying to cram everything into one movie. It will look good on my DVD rac, but I will probably never watch again. This is what I get for buying movies instead of just renting them.

As far as visual and sound quality, it was great........just the story was blah to me. I didn't know anything about the Watchmen so maybe that is why I was dissapointed. I love comic book movies, this just didn't do it for me.

The director probably could not get enough money to do 2 movies so he had to make one.

Also agree it was too long but the graphic novel had a lot in it.   Kind of like the Lord of the Rings movies were too long in the theaters and way too long on the extended dvd versions.  They could have made the movies even longer since they left alot of the books out.

I think it is much harder to take a book or comic book and make a movie compared to writing a script for a movie.

For me, the video store is only three blocks away, so why pay $15-30 for movies I'll only watch once or twice when I can rent them for $3?  I've bought a few movies that I enjoy watching a number of times, but it's less than half a dozen so far.

I am just a "nerd" like that. Its sort of a hobby to just collect as many movies as I can have. I have about two thousand movies or so, a small percentage is what is displayed on my dvd rack though. People come over to my house instead of going to blockbuster lol.

I was unfamiliar with the comics & back story but I really enjoyed this movie. The sound was fantastic on blu-ray, I may have to buy this for reference material.
