Love my xpa-3. It's powering my front section. Adding an xpa-2 soon.

Is there an advantage to xpa-3/xpa-2 combo vs xpa-5 other than the extra 50 wpc on the xpa-2 ?

I noticed the xpa-2 was considerably noisier than the others, though I'm not sure the difference would be noticable.

Having the extra power supply VA with separates might be nice also.

Separates would fill up a rack and look cool Cool

the xpa-5 back panel labels the outputs...I purchased an onkyo 1007 that does 9.2 ss. I am interested in sending the front five channels to the xpa-5 and just having the back four powered by the 1007. It shouldn't matter if I hook the front wides up to the xpa-5 outputs that are labeled surround, right?...as long as the inputs are coming in from the front wide outputs on my receiver...I have four f3s up front and a c3 and four s3 in the back.

the outputs are not designed for particular channels but just labeled for convenience, right?

I've had piles of amps,Rotel,ATI,Parasound,Adcom,BK,Carver,Outlaw etc..all good amps.Only the Parasound actually sounded better than the Emotiva, but it hummed slightly, for the money and a warranty Emotiva cannot be beat, only my opinion.

    Fish,

What is the big difference in sound between Outlaw and Emotiva?  I currently have an Outlaw 750 and been looking at the Emotiva XPA-5 as a replacement.

    James

Got stopped at the mall the other day
Heard a call from the other way
that I just came from, some ni**a was sayin somethin
talkin bout "Hey man, you remember me from school?" smoke some
Naw not really but he kept smilin like a clown
    facial expression lookin silly
And he kept askin me, what kind of car you drive, I know you paid
I know y'all got buku of h**s from all them songs that y'all done made
And I replied that I had been goin through tha same thing that he had
True I got more fans than the average man but not enough loot to last me
to the end of the week, I live by the beat like you live check to check
If you don't move yo' feet then I don't eat, so we like neck to neck
Yes we done come a long way like them Slim a** cigarettes
from Virginia, this ain't gon stop so we just gonna continue
