I think it's the other way around....  he would use these as 'corn feed' for his MWM stacks.

    Huh?

Michael is at 24,999 posts and CB posts a question to him.  Hmm, this should be interesting.  If we can get him over the edge, he will have to go to 50,000 posts before signing off.

    Re: Great Deal

I sent this e-mail to CB just now...everybody cross your fingers and hold your breath....

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Dear CB,

If you still have not moved the cabinets or gotten your cigars, I would like to take you up on this deal/gift!! There is probably no other way I can get some speakers like this in the next few years without the help of a fellow like you.

I have researched the cigars and found an online dealer out of Easton, Pennsylvania, Famous Smoke Shop, who has these in stock and they guarantee their stock is fresh.

If this vendor is suitable and acceptable to you, I will order the cigars and have them drop shipped to the address of your choice, by the shipping method you desire.

Upon confirmed delivery of the cigars, I will make arrangements to come and get the cabinets. Do you suppose they can be fit into a Chevy Tahoe, or will I need a trailer?

I have plans to visit some of my children in Montgomery this weekend, but could make the trip next weekend, Sunday specifically, as the cigars surely would be there by then. Unfortunately I could not spend the night...I work a long shift next week's Wed, Thuirs, and Friday nights and would have to sleep some Saturday, then likely the trip on Sunday would be ideal...I have learned it is imprudent to make roadtrips behind protracted no-sleep.

I work in a busy Level-I trauma center and by the time I get home I'm pretty well shot, so I would have to make it a Sunday drive. The good thing is that it is not too hard a pull from Birmingham to anywhere in Tennessee. I used to work in South Pittsburg and my baby daughter went to school at Sewanee, so I'm moderately familiar with that corner of the world. Too bad I couldn't make it a longer trip, enjoy your gracious hos[pitality, and pester the trout at Reliance. If a raincheck on the fellowshipping might be offered, I sure would accept it. Rather routinelly I get four and five day stretches off, but nothing like that is breaking loose for me in the near-term, considering the necessity fo a colonoscopy soon, baby girl returning from a year volunteer teaching in Africa, kitty cat acting a little sickly, other daughter and 2-yr-old grandson needing a visit this weekend, 36 hours of Anatomy and Physiology continuing education needing to be sent in before the 29th, etc...

If you still have them and want to do this, I'm your man. I have 6 speakers with the klipsch logo on them already, and one pair of H's I have had since the late 70's--early 80's so I know a little about the mojo, and I have just gotten through rebuilding a pair of KP-3002's, so I have been baptised a little bit, in an Episcopal sense if you will, into this whole amazing world.

If you want to do this, please let me know rather quickly, as I will have to increase my medication levels if you tarry in your response...

    All the best,

He is in Helen, GA.  A place you don't want to drive to/from (at least if you are heading north) in the dark....especially if you are tired.  My road trip to and from his place, through the forest was a real workout of driving.

Although I actually love to drive....  it was brutal.  Be alert.

    Sports fans,

I talked with Bob this morning and we are going to do the deal. I'll order the cigars today and may get to go pick up the cabinets Monday and/or Tuesday. Thanks for the cautions about the drive. I will be prepared before I go...also, I work at night in a big hospital, so I am hardened to performance in the face of exhaustion and life-and-death drama and tension. Compared to that this is going to be a fun outing!!

I drive a tahoe when I am hauling speakers. I have seen CBs Cornscalas- they should fit - no prob.I have left CBs place on more than one occasion with a .Tahoeload of goodies. As for the drive I loved it going the other direction towards I-85.  Better in a Cooper or other sports car than a loaded tahoe. Lots of curves where you can really hang it out on the edge pulling  .97 Gs. Watch out for the rats with hooves(deer). Plenty of them around CBs house- not to mention the bears.

The bears like to hang out around his fish pond - listen to his K horns and drink his scotch.Big Smile

    W-21,

Thanks for the information. I figured they'd fit but did not know for sure. I will have to de-junk the back end but that's not a big deal. The cigars that Mr G fancies are on order, documents chronicling that are already sent to Bob, and we are in the process of deciding when to make the trip...may be Sunday if all the puzzle pieces fall into place. I am still a bit in shock that this is really happening.

The next thing I need to do is figure out what components to install in them to make them sing, also where to source them, and budget is definitely a consideration. I am sure Bob will have some ideas along that line, and of course anyone who has pieces they want to either recommend or sell to get the project a little further on down the road is welcomed to chime in. As always, I need all the help I can get. The way cool thing is that this gracious group of people are likely to have several good ideas and suggestions and guidance to offer.

Very much I like the idea of dealing with folks where your word is good as gold and things happen so wonderfully simply with just an e-mail or a phone conversation, and where people are willing to help in any way they can, so in advance, thanks to everyone, and special thanks go to Mr Bob Greene, the Cigarbum. May his blessings be great and his joy full...and may this kind of cooperative attitude spread like a wildfire!!!
