    SVS sub has arrived...initial impressions

my 20-39 PC-Plus sub arrived today. i ordered it at 7:00pm central time on tuesday and they shipped it the next morning. pretty d@mn good if you ask me!

i haven't tweaked anything yet...the settings on the sub and my receiver are VERY conservative right now. i just plugged it in and got it going. i went through the usual scenes (matrix, star wars ep1/2, titan ae) and my jaw DROPPED.

i can't even think of words to describe the difference this sub makes compared to anything i've heard in a home theatre in my life. i've listened to many different subs in stores, but the setups were limited by being on showroom floors, background noise, etc).

i think the terms transparent, deep, powerful, and even MENACING is a good start. when the sub does its thing it blends in perfectly--i don't find myself looking at the sub and knowing it's there--it just blends in and WORKS.

the difference between this sub and my previous one (KSW-12) is greater than even adding a KSW-12 to my old setup made.

i'll get pictures uploaded later tonight of my setup.

pic of the sub still in the box...so you can see the size of it compared to an RF-7. also notice the damage done by UPS. they tried their best to destroy it...but it was packaged VERY well for shipping.

I just set-up my SV sub 2039PCi too and I've got one word for them: Ooooomygod! I think I'm shortening the life of our house. Very impressive indeed. B-man1: Hope the SV doesn't turned into a lease-breaker.

Quit beating around the bush and be direct... did you like?

As a commercially available sub, people just seem impressed by SVS ... Alot of bang for the buck... in that way i guess it's very similar the our Klipsch

    B-man,

"top of the sub with a dvd on it for size reference..."

Looks like one of these Cambridge add where they place a CD next to their "sub" only yours is a wee bit larger.

    Congrats great buy

Im reading SVS's site right now, and I was thinking about getting this one

    http://www.svsubwoofers.com/subs_pci_20-39.htm

Think i'd be satisfied with it?

on some of the subs, it shows the price of the sub itself, then with amp...do I need an amp? I thought it was built in?

    Anyhow, congrats on the purchase!

Re: SVS sub has arrived...initial impressions

SVS sells different types of subs...the PC line has an integrated amp (PC = powered cylinder)...the CS line does not have an integrated amp and you can buy one of their models or use one you already have.

give them a call and they will tell you exactly what you need by your needs (listening habits, room size, etc). they DO NOT oversell to people and actually talked me out of a higher model since it wasn't the best choice for my needs.
