    Duke Spinner:

low sensitivity speakers just dont have the Impact that Klipsch, Altec have

In that case Duke, you leave me no choice.  I now present to all who desire 'impact', the new Altec Lansing A7.  The original 'Voice of the Theatre' has returned in all it's technicolor glory and widescreen splendor.  Handbuilt of 13 layer baltic birch ply, the A7 can be yours for a mere $6,000 each.  Enjoy...

In response to the challenge thrown out by our American friends, Australia has nominated these little babies for the larger living room.  A 4 x way cinema speaker from Australia's international manufacturer Krix...

    Daddy Dee:

The Large Advent Loudspeaker was a favorite in college and I have as much affection for them as remembering my first car.

the Large Advents where my first speakers. I think I got them in 79. Paid $400 for them that was alot of money on a student's summer job salary. With Inflation that is about $1000 in today's dollars. Still have em running in the exercise room, together with a pair of smaller Advents(same drivers, smaller box)  They really have great bass to pump iron with!

Darn glitch while I'm tryin' to post a pic of the Sound Lab Audiophile Series A-3 electrostatic panel loudspeaker, one of my Top Ten picks!Surprise

    J. Gordon Holt of Stereophile (Vol. 9 No. 6) said about the wood framed A-3s:

"Never in my life have I lived with a speaker that has brought, and continues to bring, as much pleasure, excitement, and satisfaction. In short, I am madly passionately in love with their sound... Imaging from the A-3's is spectacular!"

    I hope photographer and A-3 owner Philip Greenspun doesn't mind I doctored-up his image a bit...gotta make it forum-friendly y'know.Wink

    - Jim Tidwell -

"With valves aglow, the Legend lived anew!" My System Profile continues to reveal aural fidelity...

Forget cryo'ing wires, magic rocks, clarifiers, wooden cable trestles, green markers, mystic bricks,Western Electric 300Bs personally blessed by Alexander Graham Bell...the missing audio ingredient is...cheesecake!

I heard the Salk Veracity HT3 yesterday. Sounded pretty good. Very nice looking speaker. Good from 34-25,000Hz. This one is in Bubinga.

The Dunlavy Audio Labs Signature SC-VI loudspeaker is not too bad either (although Kriton's Cornwall II gave it a run for its money).

The Swiss don't only make great watches.  They do speakers as well.  I've never heard a Piega speaker, but I have seen them in shops.  The build quality is, as expected, outstanding.  Here's their top model featuring a riddon type tweeter/mid range...
