    Stupid cornwall question

Would a cornwall be damaged in any way  using it laying  on its side on a shelf. I understand it is not an idea situation. Because of space limitations my options are limited. Common sense tells me it wont damage the speaker. assuming of course it doesnt fall off the shelf.

Mine is laid sideways for use as a center channel and I know others here have it this way as well.  Seems fine in my situation.

Some of the early Cornwalls (the ones with the vertical midrange horn), was designed that way so it COULD be placed horizontally. Go for it.

100 lbs on a shelf. you better use 4 inch lag bolts  ( 5/16 dia. ) directly into the the studs if this is going to be off the floor and on a wall shelf.

    i would't sleep under it.

I would take some precaution to protect the finish as well.

The ports are on the front, right? Did any Cornwalls have ports out the back?

Jim's right, but thats very very very early CW's with the vertical slot in the back side.  Even my 63's have the standard slot in front.

You'll be okay with them on the side. Sure they won't fit on the floor under your set or system? I don't know about hanging them on the wall.
