For sale a very nice pair of Klipsch Cornwalls. These are the original model, serial numbers 21T275 and 21T288. Functionally speaking, they are excellent with the following upgrades:
- ALK Engineering designed "B series” crossovers with premium parts by Hovland, Jensen and Solen Châteauroux
- upgraded tweeters from Bob Crites (CT125)
- hookup wire from crossovers to binding posts is Kimber Kable 8TC, 16 individual strands of hyper pure copper in a large-format braid
- midrange horns have been wrapped with weather-strip cord to damp undesireable resonance.
Cosmetically speaking, these speakers are in decent condition:
- tops and sides are very good, no scratches or spots to speak of
- one speaker has a couple of nicks along the bottom edge, not too obtrusive and if stained might all but disappear
- all velcro and adhesive has been removed, then the front inset baffles were sanded and repainted
- original cane grills show their age with a few minor tears. The lower corner of one cover back is broken, but the problem does not show on the front cloth. And if children or pets make covers a necessity, they can be refastened in a jiffy with a little velcro
These upgraded classics are well worth the asking price of $900. If you’re in the market for vintage Klipsch heritage speakers, you owe it to yourself to check these out.
